Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

OK. And your source of proof is US led media propaganda.
So murdering a couple journalists is bad (unproven) but countless wars causing the murder of millions of civilians around the world is good?
This is a forum about VW vehicles, not world politics. Keep to the topic

The VW executive management is really doing their best to be the next textbook case study on how not to manage a PR crisis . . .

Yes, they are probably technically correct that there is no law in Europe that makes a "defeat device" illegal. However, taking your 14-year old sister as your date to the Year 12 Formal is not illegal either but that does not mean that you do it or brag about it afterwards

Everybody knows blue hoses absorb more UV light leading to distorted readings!

                          • Email just received from VW saying that recalls will begin with the Amarok.

So far nothing saying about incentives at all...

                              • Received an email.
Recall will begin in March. A bit later on for 1.6L units.

I'm going to wait and wait and wait for reports of what is happening with the engines pre/post recall. I might even send an email into VW that they should be offering to pay for my servicing for the rest of the time I own the car for accepting the recall work to be done.
