Soo got around to installing the fuel pump/surge tank today. Took a bit of convincing but I managed to get it in I used USRT's wiring harness which made this alot simpler!

Its a quality piece of kit

Had to modify the stock intercooler bracket a little to mount the pump, but is nice and solid now

    how it sits

I ran the tank feed and return lines along the fender, under the evap and washer reservoir to try and minimise clutter. I think it turned out quite neat

So after I got all the leaks sorted I took it for a test drive. It's um, pretty loud hey. Not unbearable but definitely noticeable but this setup is good for over 500hp.

So not many updates as of late. It hasn't broke in a while so I'm stoked with that!! Now that I have no boost leaks it's holding 20psi till redline but now I am running out of fuel pump. I've ordered an 044 and surge tank that I'm gonna mount in the stock intercooler location that should be good for 600hp hopefully that'll stop it leaning out up to and then we can turn the boost up a bit oh and the wavetrak is still sitting in its box

Haha thanks mate, looks better clean. Could use 5-10mm spacers on the rear but insurance says no

I've got a 3" catless downpipe to a 2.5" billyboat exhaust. I swear by it. Not too loud either. Although sometimes I wish it was a bit louder when doing some spirited driving haha. It's just a no name downpipe front eBay too. No problems with it whatsoever. Cheap as

John at 42DD told/confirmed this with us, which I basically understand is:

3" DP is best for performance.

But with the Cat Backs, it's more of a choice:

3" will give you a bit better top end power, kW on the dyno, but rob a little low end power, and it'll be noticeably a bit louder.

The 2.5" will give a bit better low end power, losing a little top end, and be noticeably a bit quieter.

I'll try to find the actual quote from him, but I think that sums it up.

You really should've jumped in with us on that 42DD buy, we ended up getting 35% off!! The offer was meant to end on Tues USA time, but if you emailed them now you could maybe still jump in! ... You could maybe also jump in on shipping with one of the guys on here that's getting their exhaust sent to near you anyway... My full turbo back 3"-2.5" 42DD exhaust is only costing me about $1050 AUD, to my door! And that's including about $400 AUD shipping!!

Maybe just grab a 42DD 3"DP right now, and then get a varex muffler from elsewhere? I love the idea of those things! And that is probably why nearly all of us in the group buy got the 2.5" cat back, just that bit less unwanted attention from the boys in blue and judgemental frowners. >-( ..aka: the haters!

Haha, I actually want to put a 1.9tdi badge on it. Diff is not installed yet. I'm sourcing a 2nd tranny to drop it in to minimise downtime. Got a good leed so hopefully will be in soon!

Yeah, I like the SRS TEC stuff too Lito! I'd still take the JOM bumper off you, even it's a bit rough on the inside..

i agree with jed and reckon the deeper intake version is the way to go. the one you posted doesn't look right with the indicator shape cut outs above the intakes and its too angular in my opinion. i reckon you should go with this one...

also i could be talking bs but heard that the oiled filters can suff the maf sensor over time. like i said it could be **** but as a safe guard i would make sure it is not over oiled and try and clear as much excess as possible.

anyway stop rooting around on the net buying things and get that chihuahua fitted...

looking sweet mate, keep up the good work
