Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • TDI250 Transporter DPF removal/replacment

Has anyone replaced their DPF on a Transporter and have any tips? Guessing its mostly accessed from underneath? Don't have a hoist unfortunately and access from the top of the engine bay doesn't look great.

    Cheers

I did some research on deleting the DPF as there seemed to be few problems with owners of the new model acouple of years back . From reports in the UK where it is popular there are a couple of things to note . One you will need to have the computer reset as the DPF removal will trigger a sensor missing , secondly the upside from the UK better performance with better economy and obviously no regen or clogging up of the DPF . Read this report from Darkside in the UK has all the options available .https://www.darksidedevelopments.co....ilter-dpf-fap/

It'll come out the bottom, but you'll need to disconnect a few sensors and unhook it from the turbo from up top.
