That was close.
Went down to local Subway in my 20 year old T5 manual 2.0 litre , pulled out to turn onto mainroad and went for first gear nothing !! . Quickly realised that the gear stick was no longer connected to the linkages , no amount of waggling the limp stick made any difference . Sitting there with cars forming...Last edited by Sunny43.5; 03-10-2024, 04:14 PM.

Does anyone have part numbers for the shocks and the top mounts please? Car has Dynamic chassis...

Front strut noises
Hi All. I've had my 2007 ex ambulance T5 for more than 12 years. The vehicle was a bush retrieval vehicle so it came with bilstein suspension (slightly raised) and a locking rear diff. I've had strange noises from the front right strut top mount off and on for the life of the vehicle, this turned into...

Fuel Economy
Just thought I'd share my Golf's virtual cockpit. I'm very happy with the fuel economy of my 1.4 litre auto, and the fuel range (just over 1,000km). On top of that, I think the power is amazing – more than enough for me.

Removing coil packs
Trying to remove the coil packs on a Mk7 90TSI 1.4L, so that I can replace the spark plugs.
I have the VW tool (with the shaft that inserts into the bolt hole and then expands when you wind it up).
I got two of the coil packs out (it wasn't easy though!) but with the other...

Bang for buck front pads/rotors? 340mm? 312mm? What?
Hi there,
I'm reading a plethora of mixed messages in regard to what pads and rotors fit my car. One site will say one thing, another will say something else. I'm capable of changing them myself, but do you think I can work out exactly what to buy?
I don't need top end performance.....

It's a Comfortline with all the packages and options available such as roof top, leather seats...
Not as good looking as the R line but very happy.
Nice meeting you.

New owner, first VW
Hi all,
Thought I'd introduce myself and my car. It's a MK5 GTI 3 door, with many little problems. Hopefully I can pick a few brains in here and get it back in top shape, because it's an absolute pleasure to drive.
Looking forward to meeting and chatting with you...Last edited by JoeysIm; 23-08-2020, 08:07 PM.
