  • I did oringally think that was the problem thinking that I was expecting more off a bigger kick but stage 1 would fry the tyres in first over 3k and second would spin easy and now since stage two I've been reving it to 4K and struggles to spin first today giving it some good hits to work and home till 6500rpm in 2nd gear and can't get it to fry the tyres like it would on stage 1 tune hence why I think there is something wrong

If I want a lot of power I have my 500hp rx7 in the garage haha

    • You're going to drive yourself nuts unless you get it logged. You may not even get as far as a logging, the fault code for an easy to fix will probably be staring straight at you once you plug in. It could be MAF, MAP, coil harness, o2 sensor, rich condition, cam not phasing etc etc- a million things that you can go around in circles with unless you log it.

Getting it logged? I had it scanned today and not showing any faults other than the cruise control that I know it doesn't work or are you taking about something different? I plan to just take it back to the shop that gave me the revo tune hopefully next Friday and they can tell me what's going on

        • Just in case you're not familiar with the whole VAG logging thing, logging usually with vcds software means taking real time read only data logs of things like fuel trims at idle and then o2 sensor lambda/AFR's, MAF, MAP sensed versus required boost, inlet temps, injector duty cycles and timing pull during 3rd gear runs. All the data gets saved into files that you can analyse or email to someone who can. Its just plugged into the comms port of the ECU next to your right knee while you do it out on the road.
Its good that you got it scanned and there were no major errors. Reading fault codes in a scan may show up if you have a glaring problem eg a sensor that is turd, but if you have a fueling, boost or timing issue that's related to the tune, it'll show up in the logs.
But if you were familiar with all that but were just waiting till friday then I'm sure your guy will have that and more and will get you sorted.

          • Hi bud! Congratz on the car.

My name is Dhiren and I actually have a 9n3 polo gti. It is a really fun and awesome car to own. Modding it will definitely unleash it's true power.

            I currently have:
            Unitronic stage 2 software,
            76mm downpipe,
            63mm exh,
A front mount intercooler with upgraded piping,
            Forge splitter recirculating diverter valve,
            A forge turbo-inlet pipe,
A 4 bar fuel pressure regulator and
            A cai.

My car is a really beaut to drive, raced a few bigger cars and surprisingly I was in font of them.

I guestimate that power is around the 165-170wkw mark.

It is what sam said. Get yourself an OBD vagcom cable and we can talk you through running this stuff yourself. The registered version of VCDS lite is US$99, though get the cable first, we can get it working before paying for the registered version. Or buy the VCDS kit from them with the VCDS cable for $250.

Alternatively, look into ME7 Logger, it's a much better logger than VCDS though doesn't scan for fault codes... or just find someone in Sydney who can log your car (as opposed to just scanning it). I'm happy to review your logs once done.

                • not sure i feel too comfortable playing around of the tune of my daily knowing me something will go wrong lol
so if i get something like this tho i can change and adjust the fuel timing and boost and just plug it in myself? sorry if these questions sound stupid never really done anything with tuning before but might just be safer having the shop do it

                  • You can only lower boost. You can add timing but if you're logging it. There is no way you can blow it up.

                    • what sean and gav said. Logging doesn't fiddle with anything. Believe me if I was going to be logging your car I would touch nada. I'd just be capturing the data of what your car is doing during a power run and that's it. Then the log can be examined for what could be going on.

                      • New parts this looks like it will be fun to install haha and car is booked in for Friday for the guy to check the tune and see what's going on hopefully they will find the problem just wish I had time to install the TIP before I take it in

                        • Probably best that you take it back in the same configuration they last touched it with anyways.

No point changing things and then complaining about it.

You'll need a male to male connector and a small hose clamp for the lower hose connection. The forge ones come with one installed from factory but these don't so it makes life a lot easier if you fit put one in before you install it into the car. I learnt the hard way

                            • Thanks mate yeah I looked into it so I know about the male to male connecter I most likely have spares already from my old cars and I have spare clams laying around if I have the time I might give it a go on the weekend but I'll see what happens with the tune first but I know it's low on power cos the streets I drive too and from work everyday that I like giving it little hits use to fry it now no chance even up to 6k can't even make it chirp in second lol

                              • Well took it into the shop and we have found the problems air flow meter isn't working properly so explains why I've lost so much power down low and the N249 is faulty so playing with the boost I wonder how long it's been like that for and how much power I've been missing out on even on stage 1 haha I get the feeling I'm gonna get a good kick when I get them replaced
