  • Thanks mate for the photos might look into that and play around with it when I install he TIP.
and for the noise of the pod just a little bit of grunt down low wasn't expecting too much turbo noise from such a small turbo but the intake will help but I don't mind it.

Think I spoke too soon tho about the car good let work today got a street away and a warning light came on Haven't lost any power or anything but I'll get it scanned again tomorrow most likely something stupid the only thing that has changed is installing the pod but it's been running like that the last few weeks hopefully it's just something silly

    • Ok I plan on giving the TIP install a go tomorrow doing some reading I'm I bit worried seeing other people's experiences that I'm not gonna be able to get it done in one day seeing as I'll be doing it on my own haha wish me luck lol

      • I think you might surprise yourself. I struggled, but im not mechanically inclined, and its a cramped space. But the more experienced people seem to get them in ok. even doing it the hard way, it's not going to take a whole day

        • Well I got the TIP installed took a little over 2 hours doing it on my own wasn't as bad as people have said just a few scratches but no blood loss lol just hope it's sitting on the turbo properly haha took it around the block felt good and as soon as I gave it a hit in second it broke traction so feels like it's made a little difference so I'll see how it feels on my way to work tomorrow.

Only problem was I was short one clamp so I had to put the standard air box back on but I'm not worried the pod can go back on in a few weeks

          • Had some time today and put the pod back on and made a temporary cover for the box nothing special but will do the job for now

            • Well the time has come to do brakes cos my front disks are a little warped and rear pads are low so I've decided to just redo them all and ordered front and rear DBA slotted disk and some bendix euro pads for the front and some TRW for the rears that will be ready in a few days I'll post some pics when I put them on

Next thing I wouldn't mind replacing are the headlights cos they are really scratched up and thrashed and if I ever take a holiday repaire and paint the wheels

                    • Didn't see the point of upgrading the rears just being my daily and a street car not something I'll ever track just some good discs and pads will do the job fine and they feel good

Today I gave my headlights a go to clean them up a little rubbed them back and hit them with some clear not the best and as clear as I would like but still a lot better than how they were and seeing as it didn't cost me anything to do I can't complain

I'll leave them for a few days then give them a nice cut and polish and should be sweet for now till I decide to buy brand new ones

                      • Decided to bypass the N249 valve today to see if it made a difference I just pulled the line off the manifold and plugged that into the bov output and just ran a new line from the manifold straight to the bov and it feels a lot better getting 20psi now in 2nd gear just like 3rd cos it was only hitting 17-18psi before so I'm guessing I was losing some boost cos of that and I love how much louder it is haha

But I am getting a bit of turbo flutter when going slow when it's under 5psi but hopefully it's fine

                        • you can either leave the N249 solenoid in place and plugged in (the ECU won't know any different) and all will be good, or strip all that crap out and solder a resiter across the two wires when you cut the solenoids plug off and hide them away in the ignition loom.

                          • Cheers that's good to know think I'll just leave it there plugged in doesn't bother me and is all hidden under the cover anyway im just shocked feels like I gained another 15hp getting some torque steer in second now haha

                            • before I removed mine, I wired in a little LED in parrallel with the solenoid and ran the wires through to the cabin. It was coming on all the time, sometimes hard on or sporadically blinking - basically always bleeding away boost here and there. Some say they can't feel the difference but I'm with you, I definitely could.
