Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

      Got myself a set of Marangoni Zeta Linea's, installed, balanced, aligned this morning. Car now sticks to the road like glue! Kind of miss the feeling of wheel spin on the Conti's though.

          A late member of this forum paid $174/corner fitted and balanced from Jax tyres for 205/45 R16. I paid $204/corner fitted and balanced from Jax tyres for 205/40 R17.

          It'll be interesting to see if the price has changed much as I've had mine on for about a year now.

            Got them (205/45/16) at Marks and Wallings for $190 a corner fitted + balanced. Also did an alignment for $46.

              Nope. Just a nice deep thin scratch. Doesn't look wide enough to be a key so must have been something else sharp and pointy. I'll take it down to the paint shop next to my mate's work on saturday and find out how much it's going to cost me.

                      yeah I definitely would mate. As I said in the tyre thread, my previous Toyo Proxes T1-R's at about the same point in their life were like driving on ice, and they are supposedly an awesome tyre. My next tyre I will probably get something different but not for the reason I don't like my current tyres, I just like trying different things. After 12 months of spirited driving on them, they still have very impressive grip. Wet traction through first gear is not very good any more, but most cars in the rain have traction issues through first gear, particularly FWD turbo cars.

                        Got the wheels already its 16" but the spacers i currently have on are rubbish so i ordered proper ones for the front and rear . If i dont use spacers the wheel on the inside will knock the brakes

                              which passat wheels, how did you get them to fit. I thought passat were 5x112?
