Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • I dropped my wheels off this morning to get the stud holes drilled out to 14mm (thread size on my studs). Hopefully the spacers will make it in the post by tomorrow afternoon so I can whack the wheels on friday night. These wheels are a never ending story..... I haven't really got my hopes up for them fitting, just so I'm not upset if they don't. There's no reason they shouldn't though now, i thiiiink i've covered everything.

If you have a drill could have done it yourself with a 14mm drill bit.

              • Yeah, that's something I don't have. I don't think it would fit too well in my 2 bed apartment...lol.

What??!! There is always a place for a Cordless drill and a Hand held Grinder at the very least in any mans tool collection!!

How are you going to hang that pesky picture your girlfriend bought over, or put together your new TV cabinet??

Even buting a cheapo Ozito one from Bunnings will do!! Even these come with a 3 year warranty...Now, go out and re assess your manhood!!!

                      • I have a Ryobi cordless drill, but i doubt that it would be able to properly drill out the holes in my wheels. You would need a proper bench drill for that.

Also, if i f**k it up, I basically have to throw the wheels away. I don't want to risk that!

I don't use a drill, I just have a hammer for all of the above.
