Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Its a full custom one, just has the standard bash plate fitted to it...Its a 2.75in dump pipe on it, so I may get some decent gains...

    • You should log the boost before you do and and if it comes in earlier.

I am pretty happy with the overall result.

Mozz - good to hear you like it.

Don't know mate. Not than I am aware of. I didn't notice any gaps anywhere. I took the grill bracket off to dremel out that flap and bolted it straight back on. Apart from the fact that the SEAT intake was a bit of squeeze to put back, everything looks pretty sweet and everything sits flush as if it was stock.

                        • When I installed mine a while back, I left the flap on and not sure if I should've dremelled it off. Any sugestions from anyone if there are any gains/benefits out of this that anyone has noticed before and after the flap removal?
Great to hear both of you recieved and are enjoying the benefits of the SEAT intake. Have fun guys.

Looks the goods Jon. I've had my eye on a CDA9887 for the polo for some time, but haven't quite got there... What are you doing for splits/ sub etc?

                            • mozzy:- where the seat intake trumpet ataches to the plastic grille harness. after it is atatched theres about a 10mm gap below the seat intake and the grill harness .not sure how best to explain it, id take a photo but it was a tight fit to get in there.nice work jon, looks awsome, the blue display should word well with the rest of the gti displays.

                              • hey dave, i cut my flap out ages ago, even when i was using the stock trumpet.

i would suggest cutting it out- the flap is quite intrusive, and i personally couldnt see the point of dropping a couple hundred on a nice Seat intake, whilst that flap was still covering a good half of the feed into the Seat pipe.

i didnt dremel mine, i just cut it out with a stanley knife. did the trick, and allows it to breathe better.

                                cheers
