Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      • Picked up my MOMOs from the refurb place (1 day late) came up sweet, took it to the tyre place ended up going with Kuhmo KU31s nice amount of stretch.
Wheels fit prefectly no need for spacers except they managed to drop one of my rims and scratch it need a mobile rim repair guy as I can't get off work (tyre place is paying for it).

meh needs to be lower (actually looks better than what it looks like on this pic)

still not enough poke so going spacers ASAP

        I'm the worlds worse photographer

            • yeah car needs a massive wash couldn't be arsed after the run around I had today.

              17x8 with 205/40/17s, think next time i'll go 215s shouldn't be a problem.

though now I have these on..... I want wider... staggered 9s and 10s will be perfect.

                • Got the AC compressor replaced under warranty today. Took 1 month to get the parts and now summer is over. Would have been nice to have AC with the heat wave but at least it seems to be ok now.
                  Cheers,

                            • Covered the front of mine in blue masking tape in preperation for the drive to Phillip Island tonight.

                              Its an odd look!

                              • Finished off Jimmy's suspension install yesterday with a wheel alignment at his recommended alignment shop Rick's at Bowen Hills. That just about finishes off all my planned suspension mods with Forge front strut brace, H&R springs, Koni yellow adjustable struts, Whiteline front and rear adjustable sway bars and rear toe-in shim kit. Unfortunately it was pissing down when I picked it up and the traffic was crap as well so can't really give a fair write up. So far feels more firm and stable with better steering feed back. Going for a blat on Sunday to Mt Tamborine will post my findings and some pics
