Is the rear lower and front lower brace intuitive on where to mount?
Rear lower is pretty straightforward. IIRC it fixes around the swing arm mounts, the holes are already there.
Haven't had a chance to suss out the front.

Hey guys just got off the phone from Luis and he is happy to investigate the bolt issues for the rear brace and rear sway bar.
He has requested some photos be posted asap so he can send some info back to UR in Malaysia. He will try to get on the forum by this afternoon to comment.
Can you not get a spanner on the bolt? If the nut is spinning then you need to apply some leverage to get it started again. Drop the other end of the bar and pull it down a bit.

Gavin
leverage
how can I not think of that
I'll try this when I have time this week
thanks Gav

Thanks very much!
I'll post some pics of the cross threaded bolt if I can get it out
agree
the holes in the rear brace are awfully awful
need to get some bigger washers
and I had a cross-threaded bolt on the brace today when I try to change them to a set of high tensile bolts and nuts
now I have 3 new bolts and nuts with an old one on the rear brace
can't take it off, can't tighten it
any suggestions?
As I said about the instalation of my rear sway bar, which I thought should have taken 20 minutes, ended up being 3 hours. I had galling issues with all 4 bolts. One head snapped off and I had to cut off the other 3.
I am not keen on using the stainless bolts for the front strut brace, so have not fitted it yet. At first I thought I was alone with issues with these SS bolts, not so!
I can't work out how to post pics here.
Kind regards Al
My Install took about an hr, but i dont think the bar has to be 100% tight as i noticed it creeks like mad at 100% tightness yet was fine the first week i installed it when the bolts were looser.
Im thinking of loosening the bolt a few threads on each side and using loctite to keep it in place, found i had no problems when the first bolt was tighter than the 2nd on each side, may take a bit of experimenting.
This is Luis From Ultra Racing Australia, i was just reading some of the comments made by a few members about the nuts getting loose, this is something we've never come across.
To stop this issue from happening again, i will go to a hardware store and buy some locking nuts and spring washers to stop the bolt and nut from getting loose again, if you guys can email me with your address and let me know how many pairs is required, i'll have it send out as soon as possible. I will inform this to the Headquarters, but by the time i get an answer and receive replacement nuts, washers and bolts, it will take weeks. I apologise for the inconvenience if this has put some of you in danger, but we always recommend and suggest that the braces need to be installed by a qualified mechanic or tuner, as they will have the right equipment and hoist to fit the braces properly.
Al, email me direct with the photos so i can have a look at the snapped bolt heads (ultra.racing.australia@hotmail.com), again this shouldnt be hapenning. Only solution will be to replace the existing nuts with locking nuts and a spring washer.
If there are other issues, please let me know and i'll try to help out as much as i can.
I've just done the front upper strut and lower rear brace. Front is easy as, get both sides lightly threaded before tightening. lower rear is quite straight forward but a little fiddly. You need a 17mm spanner for the nuts, though needs to be narrow to make it easiest as there isn't much room. As already said, also need larger washers to stop the bolt going through the eyelet. Fortunately no issue as I had some at home. I did the the bolts and nuts opposite way round to tdifan, nuts of the inside.
Will likely do the front lower brace tomorrow, and new sway bar links while I'm under it. Than over the next few weeks, source new brake rotors and pads ready for track time.

Unfortunately I've only driven down the highway, but my car 3 wheels out of my driveway and felt a bit tighter, without the usual flex. Plus weather here is too awful to consider pushing any corners

So it turns out I have the full belly pan (as found on early GTIs) and did not fit the front lower brace.
It is therefore available to buy now ... $160 + postage (free delivery in Brisbane).

Hi, I finally got around to having the front lower brace fitted at Brakes Plus. They couldn't fit it as the bolts don't line up. Apparently one of the back bolts is about 3-5mm out from allowing the brace to fit.
What do I do about this?
I know one other member had an issue on his car, but that brace fitted another members car... anyone keen to buy the brace off me at cost? Or can it go back to ultra racing for a refund??
My car is MY07, 08 model.
