I prefer the nylock route myself. They should be supplying nylocks IMO and bolts that aren't so long. A couple of threads out of the nut is plenty, even in the aerospace world.
You should be using a minimum grade of 8.8 on the bolts in suspension components. If you can't get 8.8, get 12.4.
So Gavs, how does that translate in plain English to the nice shiny stainless steel bolts supplied and it seems were not suitable for this application? Cheers Al
Tensile and proof stress of carbon steel bolts and screws
Grade 8.8 in any size you are likely to need should be readily available from any bolt shop. It's the high tensile ones that are tough to find in some sizes.
Cheers for the heads up on the bolts. It'd be worth relaying to UR.

So do Ultra Racing need to show all of us their serious about the quality of the products they supply and offer some replacement bolts suitable for the intended use? Cheers Al
There's nothing wrong with the quality of the bolts and to be fair none of the braces are full on structural items. They are highly unlikely to come off in my opinion.
In the interest of a neater install, I'd be using bolts that aren't overly long and I'd fit some locking nuts.
What I don't really like is the monster holes that are in the rear brace.
agree
the holes in the rear brace are awfully awful
need to get some bigger washers
and I had a cross-threaded bolt on the brace today when I try to change them to a set of high tensile bolts and nuts
now I have 3 new bolts and nuts with an old one on the rear brace
can't take it off, can't tighten it
any suggestions?

Is the rear lower and front lower brace intuitive on where to mount?

Has anyone fitted the front braces yet from the current group buy?
I bought a front brace about 4-5 months ago and I had to modify it to fit, curious to see if these will require the same. I also took it off for regular street driving and it was rubbing on the subframe and making unpleasant scraping sounds.
