This is my first experience with Koni’s shocks. I bought a pair of Polo's used shocks and dismantled them.
They are a little shorter them the stock, they help the car when I'm dragging, but they appear to be softer them the stock shocks... The front rubbing is more frequently now. Bump e re-bump setups are in the hardest mode.

I really don't know... I'm just exploring the possibility... I think the engine is going to be more efficient, because we have to think the stock camshafts, the exhaust pipe, turbo, exhaust manifold, intercooler, etc… were designed to work in an engine developing 150hp… I’m pushing the engine to develop 275cv, but with the boost I’m using I should have more power. My intention is make a balanced power flow.Originally posted by archangel_7 View PostI love what you've done to your car looks amazing! do you have any vids of it on youtube?
Why are you changing the cams? excuse my ignorance but, i don't see the point really.. will it make much of a difference>?

My guess is that your efficiency is almost certainly limited by the tiny exhaust turbine... I understand you've upgraded yours but overall the turbine size/housing is tiny as far as turbos go.Originally posted by Plautos View PostI really don't know... I'm just exploring the possibility... One result of having too small a exhaust side is seeing hi boost figures but not huge power.
That said, you've easily got the meanist k04 going around!!! Considered selling them?
I can't wait to see what the cam does!

The tiny turbine is a big problem, however it is possible to make more juice with it...Originally posted by xtturbo View PostMy guess is that your efficiency is almost certainly limited by the tiny exhaust turbine... I think with this cam setup I will drop the temperature in the combustion chamber and flow a cleaner air/fuel mixture...

Yes.. sorry.. I was trying to test the car in the dyno before everything but they were full.Originally posted by VWindahouse View PostAny update on cams mate?
Ok my first impressions…
During my first runs I saw the fuel mixture at the peak power get lean but the ECU could correct it. But just for kill the curiosity I installed a 4bar FPR and I felt good results.
The engine revolutions are much faster, in the N/A phase before any boost I felt the engine stronger, and the turbo is charging faster and giving to the engine more power with the same boost.
The engine is growing well until the red line even with the turbo pressure dropping.
The temperature of the engine compartment is lower also.
I think with a k-16 turbo, or a garrett gt the engine will be great.
My conclusions, I felt a good gain of torque.

I was thinking on the GT28RS with the compressor housing from a GT25, but I need more handling first... I'm sliding too much in hi-speed turns... and this gearbox is killing my exits at low-speed turns!Originally posted by VWindahouse View PostGreat stuff mate, when are you thinking of dropping in a Garrett and which one do you have your eye on? And please post your DYNO results when you get them
I can’t handle those freaking Subarus! I drove one today, it has coil-overs, semi slicks, a very nice gearbox and almost 300hp. What a car, now I understand why everyone loves those freaking spaceships.
And my lovely VW let the bolts from the exhaust manifold get loose from the turbo! Just today! Track day! I’m half mad! Just because I ran over a 500hp Eclipse!Last edited by Plautos; 04-05-2009, 10:39 AM.
