  • Hi,

Just ordered a Polo 81tsi in cornflower blue with comfort pack, floor mats and chrome strip on the tail gate for 21,300. Possibly could have haggled for more off if I wanted another colour, but only 1 model in Australia with the specs I wanted (:

    • Hi,

New here, just bought a 66TSI trendline 5 spd in white in Perth, still waiting for delivery end of June though. Contract price is $15,700 including full tank of fuel, floor mats. Guess can get around another $200 further down, but figure out probably won't worth it for my wife and myself both off work at least half day, not kind of person enjoying dealing back and forth with dealer. Also consider this is my first time buying a new car and English is not my first language.

Thanks for the thread, did some research and homework. Much appreciated.

Brand new, manual not DSG though. Due to dock into Melbourne on the 29th of June. Interestingly on the NADCON screenshot the dealer sent me my vehicle is build week 22, so hoping that it might even be a MY16

          • so the service is meant to be 15k km or 1 year, which ever occurs first.

the car computer keeps on saying its due in for a service and its only 7500km.

            how annoying.

Funnily enough I was just reading a post on another forum about how to reset the service reminder and came across people with Golf 7's with this same issue. Supposedly they're set incorrectly from the factory and can either be fixed at the dealer or reset yourself and the dealer will fix it properly at the service.

You could give it a go!

                      • Considering to buy a TSI 81 comfortline manual. I noticed that there were quite a number of issues in the previous generations.

Are there any known issues on the new Polo yet, particularly the manual version?

Also, I tried to check the service cost from "fixedpricecarservice.com.au". However, they didn't seem to have the TSI 81 on their database, though TSI 66 was there. Is it because TSI 81 must be serviced in VW or their database hasn't been updated yet?

                        Thanks.

                        • Wotg, I haven't seen many common or major problems with the 6R at all?
                          1. Door seals apparently can leak water in, adjust fixes.
                          2. Fuel lines rattle, cram with bubble wrap fixes.
                          3. DSG's are ****, not just a Polo issue.
                          4. 1.4T engines can have major issues, but you don't look like you're in the market for a GTI anyway.
                          5. Cam chains can and do stretch (happened to me in the first week of ownership, yay). A non-issue on the new belt driven engines.

The 6C has had a couple of recalls so far, but no "horrible lemon" sort of stories as yet- keep in mind they're less than a year old!

I can't quite remember what VW charges for servicing on the Polo (fixed price or otherwise) but I do remember falling off my seat when I saw it- they are NOT cheap to service, certainly no where near what I would expect in this price range. It should not be any more expensive than a Hyundai or similar to service at an honest mechanics.

                          • Hi trive2,

Thanks for your advise. They are really useful.

Did VW ackowledge the "Fuel lines rattle" and "Cam chains stretch" issues and fixed them without charges? What was the symptoms of "cam chains stretch"? Engine running but not powering the wheels?

Any ideas about the changes in the coming MY16 Polos?

                            Cheers,

                            Joseph

                            • Anyone experience the window coming down and not coming back up?

one of the kids were playing with the rear window and it didn't come back up.
