  • The All New 2014 Polo- Share what you ended up paying...

So there is currently introductory offer on the all new 2014 Polo.
Just wondering if you guys (who bought the new polo) had any luck bringing the price down further.

    Thanks in advance

Best way to bring the price down on a new vehicle is to read body language / profile of the dealer you're interracting with. If he's too rushy, take a walk and find another who's mellow, knows the car and has an open mind.

Find a minimum you wish to pay and what they're willing to sell the car for and find something in the middle ground, you can use the whole "As a new buyer of a Polo I'm a bit worried with regards to the 7 speed DSG with dry clutch as I've heard quite a few negative reviews hence why my offer is this price etc etc".

I paid $22,800 for a 2015 Polo 81TSI Comfortline 6spd manual in Pepper Grey with Sport and Driving Comfort packs added. I also got a full tank of petrol and free floor mats. Considering it was meant to be $$22,990 retail I didn't get much off but I contacted every dealer in VIC and they all were really hard to beat down.

Really excited about the car was told a 4 month wait so hoping its not too far away.

Paid $22,693 for a MY15 Polo 81TSI Comfortline w/ DSG in Pepper Grey. Unfortunately only the one dealer here in Tassie so a captive audience! Happy with the car though not to fussed. Picked it up with the Polo Fabric Mats and am thinking of getting the Rubber boot protector.

Paid $24k for my white 81TSI Comfortline DSG + Sports pack, mats and roof racks. White wasn't my first choice but since there was one readily available, I took it rather than wait till the end of Jan/Start of Feb for another colour. I must admit, i'm glad I went with white. It's really grown on me!

$22,490 for an 81 TSI Comfortline DSG in Black (extra $500 for the metallic paint). Saved over $2000 on the price with free dealer delivery, CTP and Rego. Apparently the VIC dealers couldn't budge on the price. I get a full fuel tank as a 'Dealer Accessory'. Should have checked the floor mats, I though the floor mats as accessories were just the insignia ones or the rubber ones.

It's ready Wednesday so picks to come!!

                $15990 - White Trendline 66TSI 5 Speed.
Threw in Polo mats for free and a full tank.
Was one of the only MY15 available when I purchased. Count my lucky stars as the waiting list is getting crazy..

Looks great. You aren't wrong about waiting times. I ordered mine on the 7th of October was originally told 3-4 months max but now I'm looking at a late Feb/early March 2015 delivery time.

Apparently it's blown out because mine in fully optioned and I wanted a manual not the DSG

                    Looks awesome yiddo.

Here's my white 81TSI after removing the roof racks. I still think it still needs to be dropped a tad bit more. Might go for a set of H&R springs to lower it.

I went with the Comfortline 81TSI in DSG with Driver Comfort pack, metallic paint and after market window tint (the three-window tint in the Sport pack did not appeal to me). I ended up paying $25,000 on road including a plate transfer of my existing custom plates, full tank of fuel, CTP, fees etc etc.

I'm sure I could have got the price down another grand or so but I knew what I was happy to pay so didn't feel the need to argue much. I called a few dealerships but because of the lengthy queue none of them seemed particularly keen to haggle on it - these things are selling themselves.

Luckily, because I only wanted the Comfort pack and the colour I opted for, there is supposed to be one arriving around Jan 5 with a delivery date towards the end of January so I'm happy. Fingers crossed it doesn't get pushed out.

Just got mine on Friday from South Yarra VW.

I wanted the sport package or comfort, but after being told there was only one black 81TSI without the options on the ship over, and that the next one would have to wait til the new year, I put the deposit on that one.
So, I'll be looking at lowering for a tighter ride (had an '08 Golf GTI before), roof racks for the bikes, tinting, and I'll try and retrofit fog lights.

On the fog lights, I did notice that the housing for the fog lights are already there, and the lamp just isn't in. So hopefully the wires are there and it may simple to retrofit. Although the light switch would need changing as it only pulls out once for the rear fog light.
                        I'll find out soon enough.

When I retrofitted fog lamps to my 2013 77tsi, the wiring wasn't there so it had to be wired up, I also had to change the lower grill inserts, and of course fitted a new light switch. I dare say that would be the case on the new Polo, but you never know.

I assumed that to be the worst case, although the housing is there but without the globe. I'll take the cover off this afternoon and find out if the wiring is there. Also, where did you get your switch from and roughly how much?

The DRL is on the left and fog light location is on the right
