The guru swarmys say that you need to monitor it through VCDS to get to 30-35 degrees, but surely you can just temp gun the sump. Thoughts?

I wasn't even aware that such a special vehicle as an R36 even existed. I didn't buy one (will buy one in the future) but i bought a 2012 passat V6 wagon, close to an R36. This thing for what it is, has unbelievable handling i can only imagine how much better the R36 is with the suspension being 25mm... -

So long as you buy well, generally new is better than second hand notwithstanding what is said about car values after being driven off the lot. A lot of that is only true if paying RRP and asking the dealer what they would give you for it the next day.
