What would your next car be after the Polo GTI?

At the end of the day I look for functionality, control, fuel consumption, power without compromising fuel saving and a manual.

I'll be making a final decision on Wednesday, but I have a feeling I'll be leaving Ford with a new shopping trolley hahaha got to love the diamond face exhaust tips, I see some fun in that car.

Anyone else think the current Focus ST is similar in quite a few ways (overall body profile, front lights, rear hatch, and central exhaust) to the previous generation Seat Leon R?

Or is it just me? Actually it was the facelifted model of this Leon that had the central exhaust

Sigh, it'd be nice to have SEAT back in aus again, it could fill the sporty cut-down image that VW is no longer interested in these days

What would your next car be after the Polo GTI?

Seeing as the Octavia Rs shows no signms of being released anytime soon, I've expanded my search. Currently considering this: 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI R MY11 Direct-Shift Gearbox 4-Motion

FYI that car came from the factory with the 18inch rims (note silver headlights and missing wheel arch extensions).

When the car is factory ordered with the 19inch wheels (whether you choose silver or black wheels) you will get black headlights, plastic wheel arch extensions front and back, as well as a shorter steering rack.

So that car either has replica 19inch rims, or rims off another Golf R.

If I happen to purchase the ST on Wednesday I think my first mod will be this haha I cannot believe I'm looking at a BoV...but it sounds fairly mild hence why I like it:

Jeremy Clarkson smashes the Ford but deep down a lot of reviewers, engineers know as a day to day car its perfect. Who seriously tracks their daily car every fortnight?

Ive driven it as well as the renault and VXR. Out of the 3, the VXR was by far the best on the road because of the switchable suspension, the renault was the best driver's car by a long shot and the ford was, well...... bland. I know, I know, a strange comment based on the horrible over-design of the whole thing but it just wasn't fun or interesting to drive at all. Maybe I was just so horrified by the design of the thing that I didn't care for how it drove (those tail lights, only corvette should have tacky stingray monikers on their cars!).

Here are my cons on the VXR and Renault Megane RS265:

1. There is no Vauxhal / Opel VXR in Australia anymore

2. The Renault Megane 265 Facelift is due third quarter 2014...bad timing.

3. Neither Renault nor Vauxhall are offering 5 years warranty, 5 years road side assist, 7 years capped price service or free first year / 15,000km service

My personal opinion on cars today is sustainability, serviceability, reliability...looks are starting to fall down my list...unless its my RSR or Moffat. But hey us big kids need a hobby...or two...or three >.>


Update: Didn't buy the Focus ST, I think its best I wait til the Clio RS, 2014 WRX are released so I can weigh it all up...that and the 4 cylinder turbo Mustang comes out next year...

AWD, not just a FWD, and in RHD so we can buy it. And yes I know the A1 is a rebodied Polo, hence the hope for a PoloR, and if not then I more than happy to settle with a S1
