I think our cars may be boat buddies mate.

Is this the details you get from the track and trace website?

Anyway, I'm excited. But I wonder what model I'm getting...MY12?

Anyone know how to check a year model from a VIN number? VWA couldn't help, but did say that my model is 6R19V7. Whatever that is.

No, different boat ( DE1141205 DEBRB941352 Vessel Name TEXAS CF127-TXS BREMERHAVEN 21-08-2011 BRISBANE 02-10-2011) Do you know if you're getting the MY12? It helps a bit with resale (not that I'm planning that for a while yet!)

Yes I am getting a MY12. I remember it was something like all builds after mid May 2011 was a MY12 I believe.

I see from another thread you have a week 50 build week. Congrats!

I rang VWA today and was told still no build week allocated for my April order. Hoping the next black build run comes up soon!

I put my deposit down in early June, so I dont understand how VWG are doing build week allocations given you ordered 2 months before me?

Yep, that is a little frustrating. I see from other posts that it appears that VW might do production runs of particular colours or specs so it might have something to do with that.

But if they've allocated production out to build week 50 and I still don't have a production date then the 10-12 months delivery I was told in April might be looking a bit shaky.

Still yet to receive any emails from VWA, so I called the hotline today. My order is at "dealer spec" (still awaiting a build slot) with no further ETA's available. The guy I spoke to was very polite, but wouldn't talk dates.

I asked him if build dates had been allocated to a certain point in advance (say week 50) so I can expect that date as a minimum wait for manufacture, but he said that wasn't the case. In his experience of Polo GTI orders, manufacture can occur anywhere between as little as 1 week and up to 13 weeks after VW Germany updates the NADCON status to an allocated build date. So while some customers know their GTI will be built say 2 months from now, other lucky customers are getting surprised by NADCON being updated from awaiting a build date to being built next week.

For me it seems the unknown wait continues...

Got an email today from VW saying my car has a build slot and will be underway in + or - 5 weeks and that i can expect the car on the boat in 5 months, making it roughly 6 months till i would see it in the flesh. While this is good news, i canceled my order for he car a few weeks ago as i found a similar spec model on this forum.

So if it helps you guys, I ordered at the end of March 2011 and on paper would have received my car March 2012. A whole year. I heard if you order right now waits are up to 26 months ? this cant be for real.

                        Wtf vw?

So get this. The reps for VGA called my mum-in-law this week (she ordered a GTI 2 weeks before me) and told her that her car was going to now be pushed out to Feb / Mar 2012 (supposed to be Dec) because 'left hand drive' cars are easier to make and they are putting 'right hand drive' cars on hold!!! WTF?

There's just no consistency to their excuses these days......

Well there have been reports that Golf R and Polo GTi production will be on hold until after Jan 2011, so that makes sense with what your mum-in-law was told.

Cancel the orders. By the time people get their Polos there will be a whole suite of new cars on the market.

It is so weird how we have to deal with these delays over here.

My dad is in Dubai and you just walk to the dealership and they have all the cars in stock sitting there ready to go whatever spec you want
