Also it seems like, the average forum reader would be able to track the cars better than the "VW Customer Care for Polo GTI". I've run them a couple of times over the last 2 weeks to find out what sort of information they would give about the car. Once was before the car popped up on the tracking site and once after.
Both times they were unable to tell me anything alot of uhmmms on the other side of the telephone followed by, its possibly still on the train to the dock or the docks... when in fact I know the car is a few hours out of Southampton...
So don't count on them to give very accurate updates, the best thing they or your dealer can give you is the VIN and then do the rest yourself.
Regards

when does the VIN become available? Is this after it ships from the factory?MY12.5 Candy White 5 door Polo GTI. Upgrades/Mods = RNS510 H LED, RVC camera, Auto Lights Dash Sound Actuator GTI button, Gavs Footrest(!)

The VIN becomes available just before the car is put into manufacturing. At that point the dealer/VGA should be able to see it in NADCON. The VIN won't work on the W&W shipping site until after the car has been driven up the ramp onto the boat...

I spoke to them yesterday as my car was scheduled for week 36 production which was 2 weeks ago. They had no idea if it was produced or if there was a VIN and told me to call late next week.
I've gone back to my dealer today asking the same question. I'm not expecting a response. The delivery 'manager' never responds to phone calls or emails...Polo GTI - 5 door - Candy White, Xenons, Comfort Package, Audio Upgrade, Bluetooth, Parking Sensors and Tint

VW is on a roll. I got my "Thank you for choosing Volkswagen!" letter today in the post.
At the bottom of the letter it says "To check on your order, all you have to do is call the number below and provide your Commission Number:
1800 504 076
Commission Number:
<end>
So they sent me a nice "sorry its taking so long letter" and then rubbed salt in the wounds by not actually giving me my commission number? Nice. Luckilly for me i got my Commission number off my dealer a few weeks ago... but sheesh!MY12.5 Candy White 5 door Polo GTI.
