VW Australia Customer Service now managing Polo GTi order wait enquiries and updates

Might be worth also posting the email updates that VWA said they would send. I.e the chap on the phone said the next time they contact me via email would be when and i quote "your vehicle begins its journey from the docks of Europe towards Australia".

ordered in March and got my call on Weds 10/8. gave my email for updates and was given a number to contact them. Was told my order is in the system but is waiting a build slot.. I wonder if the sun roof will delay it even more than one without?! not that I can or want to change it now. When signing contract dealer did scrunch up his face and say expect delivery maybe Jan-Feb 2012.

did anyone get an email straight away? some kind of welcome or explaining email? I was excited to check but got nothing

I placed my order in early April and I have a built slot in two weeks. They had all my details wrong and couldn't answer any real questions so I'm not sure why they're bothering. I know someone else who ordered in March and they still don't have built date so I've been lucky to get in a little earlier. I guess making a huge fuss may have paid off. I'm hoping I have an email in a few weeks advising it's been produced!

I got my phone call today. The guy was polite and told me my order was still awaiting a build slot. I asked if I was still on track for a Feb delivery, but he wouldn't commit to any dates. He just said I would be receiving an email "soon" listing a hotline number to call for any questions. He also mentioned updates would be emailed on a regular basis.

So a good incentive to improve customer relations, but I'm still none the wiser.

Smacca just posted in another topic mate, but i heard from a mate in Wagga Wagga 5 door Candy white GTI with bi-xenons and sunroof whether or not it was a TSI or GTI idk as i believe he isn't such a car bloke, but worth an email query to them.

Farewell guys - I rang CCC yesterday and cancelled my order. At least the guy in line behind me will be happy. I wonder what the wait is on a Megane 250 Cup?

Full picture: Ordered 10 Jan 2011.
On contract: estimated delivery date was 28 August.
Later revised on a monthly basis until late Nov or early Dec 2011.
I off my own bat asked for NADCON ETA last week where I saw it wouldn't land in Aus until 29/2/12.
CCC did not have the courtesy to tell me that previously. I won't deal with Chatswood Classic Cars again.
VW Australia told me on phone that all dealers have always known it would be minimum 12 months. That may or may not be true.
I was prepared to wait from Jan to August. I would not have entered into the agreement if it had been even 1 week longer.

Thanks for the thought mate, but I'm hanging out for my 3 door... IMO the 5 door is too much of a family car and I've never been one for practicality.

Sorry to hear that mate. Best of luck with your hunt for another vehicle. A 250 Cup would be brilliant. But given all their hype, perhaps the wait will be just as long?

Not at all... there's plenty of them in stock at the Renault dealers... you can even take one for a test drive for a weekend if you want, lol.

Hi guys ... I ordered my gti with comfort pack, sunroof, blutooth and upgraded audio on december 16th 2010 and it is on a ship due to arrive 26th August 2011.

On a side note anyone know how long it takes from ship to dealer??
