Volkswagen Polo Model Year (MY12) 2012 Changes

I just emailed my dealer asking if I can get a refund on my upgraded RCD510 and also if my car will be getting the Comfort package by standard. At last report mine was scheduled for build on Week 51... which is Christmas, but I imagine its been pushed back.

So.... my dealer rang me up today with some updates.

He can now confirmed that the bluetooth and MDI will be standard across the Polo range including my order. That said, the updates have pushed my missus' Polo, much, further back. The built date is now week 6 of 2012. Expected delivery around March or so. He said, it takes about 4 weeks to ship it to Melbourne.

Not sure if that's good or bad news.. I'm not too good with delayed gratification. LOL!

Should I cancel the order and look around (at other dealers)? Don't know if it's worth waiting another 3-4months (on top of the original Dec delivery date) just for the bluetooth/MDI. My missus don't reaaaallllyyyyy need the car immediately though..

What do you guys reckon?

Well, there is no point cancelling the order unless you want to compromise and just get whatever is in stock at some dealership.
That also means sacrificing negotiation power, as what is in stock IS IN DEMAND, and therefore the better dealers are usually on the factory orders.

Ahhhhh, ok. I though you were getting a GTI, hence my scepticism

Nope. Everything stays the same. The comfort pack did not include Bluetooth + MDI in the first place and i did not add those options in separately.

It is NOT a MY12.5! it is a revision of the MY12 spec. Sorry I should have titled my post as Revised MY12 Polo specs.

my polo gti arrives 2nd of dec in australia ,perhaps 3rd week to adelaide and hence will i be eligible to get the upgrades as stated of standard with RCD510 and comfort package for vehicles built from November 2011 onwards.
i did mention to my dealer and they reckon theres no bulletin or memo on the latest updates.Wonder if they would install the upgrades here in australia for those miss out and besides in any case i have not receive the car yet .ta .

From the wording it seems to be only for cars built after November 2011, not cars delivered after Nov 2011. So i doubt you'll be getting any extras as your car would of been built around September.

hi guys my polo gti was built 21/12/2011 on the way to ship now does this mean that it will have rcd510 and comfort pac standard? ive ordered a black 5 door with bixenon comfort pac and does anyone know if dealers will credit for now standard add ons ? thanks Drew

"To keep other Polo models in check, including Polo GTI, further equipment additions will also keep these models throughout the year, high grade audio systems and optional Comfort Packages finding their way into both Comfortline and GTI models. Pricing will be announced on February 1."

No idea how it will effect current orders (like mine), guess we'll find out Feb 1st...

This is interesting. Wondering what high grade audio systems they are talking about because apparently the RCD510 is no longer an option for the Polo Comfortline.

I wish you could get the Bose kit they put in the Audi A1's.

I rented an A1 in Brisbane and those Bose speakers are biblical.

It's the RCD510 I think. The reason its not an option is because it will be standard
I think you will see the options rationalised on VW products to reduce the ordering/supply issues we have at the moment.
