Tracking Progress on your Polo and Polo GTI

My car has been sitting at Patrick Auto Care since the 4th and just called my dealer again and they checked the tracking site and it still said it hasn't been done.
I just checked the WW tracking site and it now actually says DELIVERED FROM - 13/7 14:30
Delivered from must mean it has been sent out to the dealership then?
Does anyone know its exact meaning on the tracking site? I need to know whether or not to get excited or not

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics tracking site is to track the shipment whilst it's in their possession. I'm sure that it doesn't keep tracking it once Patricks has taken possession.

To the best of our knowledge it's kinda like the "Liner Release" step which as far as we know is just a "paper work step". It doesn't mean the status of the car has changed.
Additionally, once a car is released from Patricks, it doesn't always go straight to the dealership. Some dealers use another party to actually do the "pre-delivery" (removing all the shipping wrapping, detailing, other steps etc) before it gets delivered to the dealership.

So in other words, you just have to talk to the dealer and ask them! lol

It's weird that the DELIVERED FROM status still shows up on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics tracking site though, so confusing...

Just had contact from my dealer today. Build date changed from week 34 to week 35. He also said that anyone ordering at this stage gets a firm 12 month wait notice no exceptions. Also said that there have been orders that are delayed up to 7 weeks.

Mike, it is up to the dealership to get your car released form Patrick Autocare and this is generally done by the stock controller, this is why when 2 cars go down the production line together, get shipped together and arrive in the same port together, one ends up in Mildura ready for pick-up within 5 days of arriving, yet the other takes 3 weeks along with scratched paint before being delivered. Most dealerships here will either own their own pre-delivery centre but if they are a one-off dealership, it is generally done on site. Being from Wandin east, which dealership was it you went through? PM me if you don't feel like posting it publically

So i should keep bugging my dealer every day then lol.
I'm getting the car from Massaro Motors in Morwell.
Yeah i never know whether to believe what i'm being told by a car dealer.
I do remember them saying that Patrick Autocare are doing the detail and i can pick up the car as soon as it arrives at the Dealership.
I just wish i knew exactly what was going on.

Mike, if I recall correctly, I got a call from my dealership on a Thursday saying that my car would arrive at pre-delivery the next day and that my car would be ready for collection on the Tuesday after. True to their word, that's exactly how it panned out.

It is hard knowing that it's so close and yet still so far away.....

Patrick Autocare don't do the detailing because the car gets transported to the dealership with all of it's delivery plastic wrapping and blue foam bumpers still on it.

My advice? Who cares what others say on here, ring and speak to the dealer principle and ask why there is no movement on the status of your car. That being said, did it arrive in port on the 4th or at the Patrick Autocare site in Laverton on the 4th? If it only arrived in port on the 4th, then your timeline isn't so bad. If it arrived at Patrick's, it's still ony 11 days, the issue will be how much longer you have to wait and worst case will generally be 21 working days after arrival in Patrick's care until it's dispatched because your car is assigned to you and not just going into a holding yard etc....

Just talked to my dealer again, he said there has been a few more things ticked off on the Patrick Autocare tracking page but there are still a few things that need to be done.
The car was discharged from the boat on the 1st and got to Patrick's on the 4th.
I asked the dealer about where the car gets washed and he said that they do get the car with the plastic on etc and they will give it a wash before pickup. The only other thing he said they'd need to do is fit the bluetooth i wanted and its ready for pickup.
Feels like its taking forever...

Got the magical phone call to say my car has arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So just have to wait for the paperwork to be completed, ready for pickup wednesday which just so happens to be my day off Cant wait

Jeremy629 - that's fantastic. Certainly much better than the proposed mid August delivery. With the amount of date changes you've had, you must be thrilled to bits. Can't wait to hear how much fun you are having once you get her.

Yeah it is quite lucky, as the day they were saying delivery was to take place was the 17th of July which I will be in melbourne anyway for the Age 5km walk. But when told it would be 15th of august very upset... But as I have the Wednesday off it works perfectly, so just have to make sure i get the paperwork through with the finance. Cant wait Will have to look at a different way home to ballarat to make use of the new sporty car
