Ahhhh....completely understandable considering some of us have waited months for our car.

I'm sure I won't sleep the night before either....although that will be a bad thing as I don't want to be too tired when I pick her up and crash her straight away!

I even had trouble sleeping the night that the Tombarra was arriving in Melbourne so tonight is going to be an especially sleepless night! After 6 months of having no car and needing to get the train to work (never again!), I'll give up a nights sleep easy!

Hey guys,

I finally asked my dealer for a NADCON screen dump, which he happily provided. And the ETA Data page is, well, blank - no dates at all.

From reading this topic, shouldn't there at least be some dates on the screen? Like the Customer Contract Date, Order Entry Dealer System, or Order Entry NADIN, etc?

In April the dealer gave me a 'build sequence number', and says they're still awaiting a build date. He estimates it to be August. Apparently the same dealer has 3 other GTI's in front of me on order, all awaiting a build date...

You won't get a build date until a few months before your car is scheduled to go into production. So its not a surprise considering your eta by your sig is feb 2012. You may get something in Novemberish?

At the moment a NADCON will only show you what you ordered, your options etc.

If your dealer has told you otherwise or given you dates it is their own estimate and not one supplied by VW, they would have been trying to comfort you during the long wait like all of them try to do

Haven't had any response from my dealer to the e-mail requesting build dates and dates of shipping, etc. Few months ago they said they expect the GTI in September although I'm not quite sure whether they're just saying that to keep customers happy... Best I think to give the sales guy a call about the build dates.

Btw, there needs to be a gtg when you get yours. Red with roof looks like such a great combo in pic and I would really love to see it!

I've had my gti for a week now and all I can say is WOW! Had never driven a VW of any kind previously apart from a brief stint in a courtesy vehicle. Already clocked up 950kms from a little country touring on the weekend...and now its absolutely filthy.

Anyway I can understand whole lack of sleep thing. I hadn't thought too much about the car until the dealer called me 5 days before the pick up date, but as each night ticked over I found it more and more difficult to close the eyes and as a result I was a total zombie when he handed me over the keys. The sound of the engine on these cars is nuts!!

Mine finally left Patrick's today, now let's see how long it takes for the journey from Laverton and into my hands...... Current estimate is +5 days.... Hoping for 3....

Looks like I have a week 26 build date which puts it at the end of this month - week starting June 25th. Judging by Frostee and GTI JOE's NADCON I'm looking at 3.5 months from "handover to production to it arriving in Melbourne". Add maybe another 2 weeks to arrive at the dealer and I'll be seeing it towards the end of October me thinks. Dealer said they'd expect to see it in late September but we'll see..
