Probably just placebo. But the dsg fart and the sound when you hit the gas is awesome.

Washed, vacuumed, and polished the Polo in preparation for the cruise to Bathurst tomorrow. Anyone else going?

Hi Gavs - ive seen you mention the comment regarding air filters before, and i agree that there is some trade off in filtering ability to increase flow, but i found this test and thought it was interesting. K&N performed very well. Some of the big name Jap brand filters were not so good.Originally posted by gavs View PostNot quite right there mate, yes they increase airflow with the filters but I am yet to see a single after-market filter provide EQUAL, let alone better filtration than from the factory. It's a trade off, more airflow (which as you correctly pointed out, is only really beneficial to those with an ECU tune) with less filtration....

Lucas, How did all those filters compare with an equivalent surface area OEM paper filter? Until you have that as a baseline the other filters flow rates & filtering capacity can only be compared amongst themselves. ie: The K&N might filter the best but if that's 20% worse than an OEM paper filter then the decrease in filtering might be unacceptable to many people.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
