What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
I've done a LOT of headlights in my past, so I'm not fussed to give these a crack too.
The problems:
Fogs/reverse lights: wrong side. IMO, as long as they are working correctly i.e. when in reverse, it lights up white, they will be fine for me. Fair enough, it will be against ADR as they will be on the wrong side, but I'd never use rear fogs as I don't believe in blinding fellow road users.
My solution is to open them up, swap lens. Even if I just remove the red lens, I'd be happy sticking a red globe in the other side. It's all great fun and looking forward to it, great challenge!
Oh, and I don't believe it would throw a code, as PoloDave has mentioned too.
Better yet, I'd love to try fab up a traditional rear reverse light setup!
Please make sure you take lots of pictures during an do a write up when your done to share with the forum. i know a lot of us would like to do this mod aswell. keep us posted.
MY16 Candy white Octavia VRS Wagon, sunroof, 19" black pack, tech pack, comfort pack, auto tail gate MY12.5 Polo 6R GTI
The way I modded my Asia lights is the same as mentioned earlier. Swapping the red cover on the rear foglight is practically not doable; It is melted in place. The only way to get it out without cutting is by removing the entire frond glass.. My solution: 1 disposable knife, some flames, and some red lightbulb paint. Heat the knife and carefully cut away the plastic around the red fog light lense, and it will pop right out. Then I painted the new reverse lightbulb red and voila.

Thank you very much Dave! Great advice, I'll get to work once they arrive. I shall take photos along the way.
Polo now has the entire roof black, matching the sunroof, and a mini antenna. Oh and tint. Pics to come.
cool rear light info, I didnt think about the single reverse and fog light setup. Consideirng how rarely they get used I cant see it being something a cop would spot, but a 'by the rules' pink slip would find it i guess, tho most guys would probably miss it as they light up etc.
Image of roof and antenna. Not everyone's cup of tea but I love it. Followed the top curve of the spoiler too, makes it look sexy LOL
Tinted windows also, cannot thank CarX Australia enough. Such great turnaround time, quality and dirt cheap too! Kevin and everyone else involved, really appreciate it!
I'll take better pics once I get the opportunity to wash and detail her up! I went 15% back three windows and 30% fronts. Its absolutely perfect IMO, don't loose any vision at night time yet still have great privacy.
That pic is of the stock MY12.5 antenna though. The Ebay sale is an aftermarket one, which looks funky too.
Sorry best I explain better. I've just removed the stock one, the one I linked off ebay is about half the height, wrapped in CF. Probably not the best pic of it. I didn't get rid of the gps shark fin, just put a shortened antenna on it.
If I get time, I might post a side by side comparison.
