What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)

May as well add everything I've done to the car so far. Mostly thanks to great ideas/guides in this forum so thanks all

1. Purchased VCDS HEX+CAN cable!
2. Personalised number plate (see picture below)
3. Disconnect sound actuator
4. Install 9WZ bluetooth module (eBay)
5. VCDS: Lane change indicator changed to 5 flashes
6. Oil/filter change at 5,000km
7. RNS510 with SSD/custom partition/v5 maps with custom POI (RNS from carsystems.pl, SSD from eBay)
8. Reconnect sound actuator
9. VCDS party!
   • Lane change indicator back to 3 flashes
   • Brake assist to 2
   • XDS to 2
   • Auto-lock doors at 15km/h
   • Auto-unlock doors when key removed from ignition
10. Ordered CH/LH light kit from kufatec
11. Ordered "GTI" switch (for sound actuator) and Garage door pushbutton from carstyle4you
12. Ordered garage door remote from eBay

As you can probably tell, depending on what arrives first my next job will be either installing the auto headlight switch or a garage remote button.

I'm going to disconnect the actuator again today, too. I'm too used to the quietness without it, and I'm not in any rush to wire in the switch as I really can't be arsed getting wires through the firewall just now. I just put it back in for my weekend cruise

Will do a front-to-rear wheel switch at 7,500km and another oil/filter change at 10,000km.

I also have a (rear-only) OPS kit sitting here that I'll get around to installing - one day!

Mate you share the same desires as me.

I Wanted to get the sound actuator dis-activated and connected to a GTi switch but for the life of me couldn't get the damn thing unplugged so gave up, what's the difference in sound?

I also wanted to get the garage switch but then thought I kinda like the idea of having them on my keys coz if someone stole my car I would be stuffed... plus I like having them on me as I need to get access to my garage without being with my car a lot of the time.

I'd like to see how you progress between the GTi switch is still appealing.

You actually have 3 options:
- Cover (has the red LED backlight to match the rest of the switches at night but that's it)
- Pushbutton (Hold for on, release for off. Has backlight plus your choice of colour LED for "on")
- Switch (Press to turn on, press again to turn off. Has backlight plus your choice of colour LED for "on")

The pricing isn't super clear on the website. The list price is for cover, you can optionally select pushbutton which adds 20 euro or switch which adds 30. Definitely not cheap, but if you want it to look OEM...

Edit: Forgot to say, my auto headlight kit arrived yesterday but I've not had the energy at the end of the day to install it yet. My garage door remote is waiting at the post office.

Trust me, you don't want to be tired or in a rush for that! Mind you if you don't do the de-pinning (which means no fogs) it should only take about 2 hours.

The Italian dealer is only a seller, he came back to me saying that he imports that from China, so it's exactly the same part...
Very much cheaper if bought directly from the producer!! :/
I already contacted the Chinese producer, with ordinary shipping the time to have it (in Italy) is 12 to 25 business day...
For that price it will be for sure fake carbon fiber...

I thinkI'll buy it from China anyway, even if I have to wait a little...
