What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
I think I could go into the MFD via VCDs and remove Bit 6? (thus turning it to an auto light when the car is turn on?).
Where can I go about finding resistors for this? (that may be the fastest solution).
I'm guessing your goal is to have auto on, error free DRL lights? First up you'd need to enable DRL in the BCM, here's where it is on mine
There would be a similar option in your BCM too but possibly not in the same spot, then you wire the LEDs to whatever bulb usually handles DRL (I believe the Halogen Polos actually let you set different lights to be DRL - You were chatting about it in another thread?)
With that done you would then enable lamp diagnostics for the bulb in question, preventing a bulb out error showing on the tacho.
I'm only really guessing here though, your best bet would be to grab a VCDS cable for an hour or so yourself and have a look at all the options your BCM has. Gavs or nomadx38 (from the http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...-up-74625.html thread) might have some clues too
I just remembered (Thanks to this thread VWVortex.com - Polo 6R DRL help - halogen type) that the DRL function is actually hardwired into the light switch. Seeing as your Polo is the earlier one doesn't have that wiring in place, you'll need to wire to the TFL connector in the light switch to the BCM :S

Wiring to the TFL Connector...interesting.
Is this what you're talking about?

The reason that you need to cut the wire because the pin orientation is not the same spec with the light. It is for the corners and the led.
The wiring isn't supposed to be needed if the pin arrangement is correct for the spec.
I'm actually talking about the light switch itself, only MY12.5 and beyond Aus delivered Halogen Polos have DRL wired up. So since your's is older, that physical wire that enables DRL is running from the light switch to the BCM behind the steering wheel is missing.
Its pretty easy to check because taking out the light switch is super easy it's covered here Graeme's Webspace
"Removal of old headlight switch
In the OFF ("0") position, press the headlight switch knob IN. It will recess into the switch body below the level of the surrounding ring. Keeping the knob pressed in, turn the switch knob to the vertical position.
Now, PULL the switch towards you straight out and the entire switch should disengage from the dash. It should pull out just enough for you to have room to unplug the large 17 pin electrical connector attached to the rear of the switch."
So when you unplug the connector, you'll see a pin marked TFL. If there is no wire in the plug for that pin then you won't be able to get the DRLs going :\
Ordered 9w7 Bluetooth finally am also ordering the reverse camera signal converter very soon, was going to get the full, multi input option to take RVC, DVD player, external gps and any other s-video input (car pc was my plan to show other gauges like boost, oil pressure etc on the RCD-510 screen) but think I will jus stick with the camera...
Interesting...he has previous Polo as well...as you can clearly see the lights are working...but he has the lights on (Parker)
as you can see:
Yeah my theory is that EU Halogen Polos had DRL all along (Cause it's a legal requirement), whereas they only recently added it here
Edit: Or could be they are designed to just run off the Parkers?

They're designed to run off parkers, that's in Hong Kong (RHD) 2011 S.Africa built Polo similar if not the same as Aus spec.
