What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
Gavs I have ordered a Candy White 5 door...the first thing i will be doing is getting my wheels to match that metallic charcoal look. Sensational! I was disappointed when they stuck with the denvers, but having seen the charcoal black I have completely reversed my decision.
Gav, Gav, Gav...get some serious wheels man...like these!
Hmmm, the ones with the red piping are ok, the others not fussed on though, would look more at home on a commodore or falcon... Interestingly I have found during my hunt for the front lip spoiler part number a whole catalogue of vw wheels!

Yeah, the more I look at them, the more I like them

Ok, can you paint them like Detroits? Like these puppies

I guess that is one option but Detroits look like they have been polished in some way. In short they are GORGEOUS and simply the best wheels on the GTI. Dun mess.
Yeah, I have to agree, Detroits are a stunning looking wheel and JaneAusten, you are correct. They are (from what I gather) painted gloss black and then the outwards facing face is machined, then sealed by some form of clear, most likely a high temp clear powdercoat like we use here at work which is tough but also super glossy.
Joe, I'll need to help you with your photoshopping, one of these makes it much easier

What The? I thought I did a pretty good job for 5 minutes work Can the Denvers be machined or is it too much work involved, if at all possible that is?

They can be machined, yes. Generally alloy wheels (from memory, I did quite a bit of casting materials research about 12 months ago) are a derivative of the 5000 series of Aluminium alloys which can be machined to get that finish but the effort to do it, well, unless you have a milling machine or you have enough time on your hands with sandpaper and files, it's probably not really worth it, especially if you want the sharp edges of the detroits. You could fake that with painting though, you would only know the difference close up.
Sent an email to a NZ dealership today asking a few questions regarding the Polo Detroit wheels....
Within the first couple of weeks I had a dash mat, wetseat front seat covers, rears on the way (still being patterned and made), cargo mat and net. I've ordered a sharran antenna.
The first post mentions changing something called a VCDS to make the lane change auto blinker function flash five times instead of three. How can I do that?
Hi.
Can anyone advise what seat covers are available for the Polo 6R (front seat air bag compatible) or do I just go and get a set of Super Cheap Auto covers ?
