RNS510 and bluetooth bought from ebay (the Lithuanian guy and the Spanish guy respectively) all installed for cost of 3 hours of labour.

Labour was a bit steeper than I'd expected (and was quoted originally) but I just wanted it done. They didn't get the full coding done properly either but I had VCDS so sorted the rest out myself.

Here's a couple of pics of the review camera.
The whole badge and camera completely replace the existing badge.
It cost me $1100 all up, but I preferred this to rear parking senses.

Oops sorry pics aren't working, will try to fix.

Within the first couple of weeks I had a dash mat, wetseat front seat covers, rears on the way (still being patterned and made), cargo mat and net. I've ordered a sharran antenna.

The first post mentions changing something called a VCDS to make the lane change auto blinker function flash five times instead of three. How can I do that?

            VCDS

Probably easiest just to link to it...

If you don't want to buy it, you may find someone in this thread who'd be happy to lend a hand.

              Aaaaaahhhh.

Thanks for that. I certainly shouldn't be poking around in there. No idea what I'd do.

Well, I don't have my car yet (it came off the boat today though!!) but my RNS510 arrived from Lithuania!!

Can't wait to fit the unit to my car. I'll have to pull my finger out and order the Bluetooth now. I think the Spanish seller is the way to go.

I've had a brief look at this http://kufatec.com/index.php?main_pa...roducts_id=207
Seems to be a well integrated option at a bit less than the VW offering but far better phone compatibility.

On the other hand a less integrated but apparently well functioned solution is this Motorola offering TK30 Music and Hands-Free Pro-Install Car Kit - Tech Specs - Motorola Mobility, Inc. Australia

The Kufatec is installed for about $800, and the Motorola about $450 (VW Bluetooth quoted from Dealer at $850)

I'm really leaning toward the Kufatec given there's no additional display unit. For ~$250 difference the Kufatec appears to give nice integration with the RCD510 (or RNS510) and appears to integrate nicely the the current white VW MFD.

I haven't done much research here and am keen to hear what people have to say about other alternatives or recommendations

Well, I'm planning on getting the genuine version from Ebay. http://http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotor...#ht_4383wt_989

$400 posted isn't bad. Install will take a couple of hours of my time.
                              This is cheaper than kufatec

This one sounds very promising, comes from Spain right? Wonder what the installation cost would be?
