This looks very nice, you don't see many of that colour about.

As with most recent VAGs, I'd suggest both heavy oil consumption and the DSG are of most concern for long term ownership. And either can be a lottery regardless of use (or abuse).

Some simple checks would be to ask if/how much oil was added between services (and hope they were honest). With the DSG, slow clutch engagement or both sluggish or harsh gear changes (up and down the 'box and particularly when shifting between D to R and back) can signal DSG issues.

Otherwise it still sounds tight, and given the relatively few kms and a service record? you should be right. Good luck.

Thanks for the info mate, I ended up putting a deposit on it last night. I didn't think to ask him about whether it used oil or not, I wouldn't have expected an honest answer if it did anyway. As for the DSG it felt fine during my drive, the cars response was little sluggish off the line (which seems normal going by my research) but once it starts going it was perfectly fine. I did a few three point turns in it, so changed from drive to reverse to drive and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, certainly no clunks/noises or anything like that.

I'm tempted to get the car checked out by a mechanic before giving him final payment, just for piece of mind.

Are you sure it's a 2018? Harvard Blue was dropped for MY18 Models (they went to Night Blue).
MY18 is from September 2017 I think...

Build Date and Compliance Dates will give you the answer.

In fact, I don't think I have actually seen a 206TSI on Harvard Blue (apart from yours).

I love the colour though, my previous MY16 140TDI Highline Wagon was Harvard Blue Also...

Sorry my bad. There were Harvard Blue 206 but they are pre 2018. Passat dropped the colour from 2018

Yeah sorry guys, I just checked the build sticker on the door and it says August 2017, it was complied in November 2017 but is an MY18. I put a deposit on it two days after it went up on Carsales, at the time the seller was saying he'd already had a few calls about it due to the "colour being rare and it having the MY18 update". Over the phone and on collection he'd mentioned a couple times that he was still getting heaps of calls about it (several a day) and that a couple VW dealerships even called and offered to buy it off him. He said he was happy it was going so he could take the ad down.

It's a bit of an anomaly, my guess is it was a late August 17 build just as they were introducing the MY18 update. So the new gear was slapped into a car with a discontinued colour? That or the seller has gone to the trouble of updating everything.

Actually it is a MY17; "specifications are as planned at September 2017, for MY18 and are subject to change without notice or obligation"... Looks like you just missed the boat due to the car being built in August 2017. Compliance dates mean nothing regarding model years etc. Either way, great car. I assume it was owned by an enthusiast due to the UGP (Underground Performance) sticker on the rear window. And the fact you have Station Logo's too. Most "lay people" would not have gone to the trouble of adding Station Logos...

Actually your comment rings true regarding the "update" as yours has Discover Pro 9.2" instead of the previous 8", however I still think they were filtering down the model line up during 2017 anyway, unless the previous owner added Discover Pro 9.2".

I added the station logos, the pervious owner got all his cars serviced at Underground. Either way I'm stoked with it.
