Well I got a unbeatable deal on a brand new one, worked out very close to repayments on the used one so no brainer for me. Now have to wait for 2-3 weeks while it makes its way to WA. 2018 MY18. Can't wait!
Bombsquad - You get an updated Discovery pro Infotainment which really looks impressive compared to the old one, mainly the screen is not matt and colour is better. Functionality wise not much different other than I think DAB radio but thats moot with Android/Apple anyway and maybe traffic assist or some such. Also I think there is an easy in/out for seats where they move into position after you enter the car etc.. but not sure on that one as i havent driven a my17 or a my18 just sat in
But yeah I got a deal that was too good to refuse locally so had to go for it
Well I got a quote $17xx -15% so lets say 1400.. hahaha you have to be f**king kidding me.. a OTS ecu remap for $1400.. I don't know what crack people smoke these days and hey clearly some spend that money but that was an OTS retune.. ie they spend 15 mins backing up your ECu and loading new values. How the hell do you justify that much.
My previous car had a Cobb AP which came with the OTS maps which was $600 and that was with me for life, heck I just sold it for $400. I also spent $500 on a protune which turned the car into a monster but that was completely done for my car / mods / engine. Anyway I wont go down the APR road, I dont mind spending money but I dont enjoy getting something from behind.
Oh well stock it will stay!
Would not this be what you are talking about (re Cobb AP).?
Yeah thats the USDM golf, I have already queried COBB about a AUDM Passat and yet to hear back. The cobb on my previous car could do everything in terms of tune including the transmission if you had auto. You could then get it properly dialed in on a dyno or do some WOT pulls and back and forth to get an eTune (which is what I had). That way it was fully customised to the vehicle and level of mods you had. Also had maps for different fuel quality.. I had performance 98, performance 95 and an eco tune if I wanted the fuel on long drive.
Also had the unit hooked up so I can watch all the important engine info - ignition corrections, timing, boost, charge temps etc. Anyway wish Cobb would do the AUDM Passat, maybe they can as you say same engine so I would hazard a guess that its the same interface/controls in the ECU so should be an easy fix.

Welcome. Another 206 owner in Perth here (White Sedan). I got the first one in Perth. It's still going well and I've been pretty happy with it (even after hitting a Kangaroo 4 weeks after getting it). El1x and I regularly attend Cars and Coffee 8:30am Saturday @ Elixir Nedlands (thought I am away for the next 5 weeks). If you're ever free then come down, lots of VW owners with plenty of tips.

I'll have to come down one time, I pick mine up next week sometime so will get tinting done and look at film protection on the front and some paint protection (AutoFX WA) then start thinking if I do any more haha Looking forward to getting out of the damn hire car I am in that is for sure.
I am looking for a 206 wagon or a Alltrack WBE... is there a directory of best prices or people recommend a good dealer in Sydney/surrounds? Need to sell my Golf R as the time has come for something bigger.

thanks.
I managed to get a new white R line wagon for 58k drive away, was pretty happy with the deal esp for Perth as it was shipped from Melb. Very happy with the car as well, very very different to my previous car but amazed at how well it drives and handles.

We have a bit of a Volkswagen cruise on towards the end of September. Another new 206 Wagon owner will be on the cruise. Maybe another 206 wagon as well as my sedan. Feel free to join Perth VW Group on facebook, or send me a DM with your facebook id and i'll chuck you an invite. This forum is great for VW enthusiasts and Passat info, but the VW Perth Group on FB is good for local knowledge etc.

Hi all, newbie here and just ordered a 206tsi wagon in white. Will get it in about 2 weeks, beyond excited right now. My first new car and the most sporty since I sold my Integra 8 years ago! Paid just under 60k with sunroof if anyone's interested.
