So does anyone have a definitive answer on whether the AU Passat has all the right hardware for full DLA?

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

It seems to work but the parameters are not right. That’s why you got flashed. In my test driving, the high beam shade (the U) was way too close to the cars nearby. They are not right and blinding others for sure. I told a lot of forum members it is very dangerous. Do not do the coding only.
If you have some knowledges of robotics you should understand why parameters are so important.
I have no answers whether mine is mimicking or not because there is no DLA officially in AUS excepting Arteon.
All we did were just taking the risk and trying the new stuffs.
I can not give you any conclusive answers really.
From my observing of activating all the functions after productions from VAG, a VCP could be the right tool.

Have fun investigating.

Same specs and with some EXTRA features on the VW, the VW literally misses heads up display and vented/cooling front seats. It has EVERYTHING else the $80,000+ XC60 has. VW ACC and Lane Assist are easily as good. And all for $30,000 less. Price and badge do not mean it’s not in the same class. It absolutely is. The so called “premium” name plates of Europe were a let down because when I was quoted, I expected soooooo much more. VW is bang on in terms of value for money.

They are calibrated to the car manufacturers' requirements but the hardware is essentially off the shelf.
