Hi All,
I have just enabled DLA for a B8 Passat.
There seem to be a number of possibilities with respect to BCM and headlight range module combinations, so this is still under investigation...hoping this might be possible to achieve with just coding and adaption - keep watching this space.

There is a VCP parameter set for Passat B8 with highline LED and A3 with Matrix LED but this is only required to change the light startup sequence (the headlight dance). It is possible to fully enable the feature with just coding and adaptation through VCDS.

NOTE: if you have the older VCDS HEX-USB or HEX+CAN it is NOT able to see a module at address 4B. This is the address of the headlight control module in newer Tiguans.
VCDS V2 interfaces and VCP can see and change settings in this module.
Will update once I test OBD11.

I am assuming most AU delivered B8 Passats with LED headlights would not have that headlight, or do most have them?

Is this the full DLA or just HBA?

Given you upload a different parameter set, will it count as flashing which may modify checksums in the control module, therefore potentially throwing a TD1 flag?

Are there any VCP owners in Perth?

This is full DLA - as far as I am aware. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I have no idea what Passats get what headlights sorry.

A VCDS autoscan will list the LED LeiMo li. part numbers.

With respect to TD1 to be honest I don't know the answer to that question. I will try and find out and report back.

In the B8 it requires the LED high headlights 7PP 941 572 AB.

Unfortunately it requires the upload of a suitable parameter set using VCP, and some coding/adaptation changes, then basic settings.

There look to be parameter sets for the following cars:
A3 with headlight range controller 7P6907357D
Passat B8 with headlight range controller 7P6907357C

All of this information required for VCP owners is available in the VCP forums.
If anyone is in Sydney and wants this enabled let me know.

Outside of Sydney VCP owners check the English forum, let me know if you have any trouble with it. Just need to get the sequence right and it's all done in 15mins.

Should work, but you'll need VCP.
Same BCM as the one I did this morning.
LED is a slightly different revision but I don't think that should preclude the feature being activated.

I think you need to know the PN of the actual headlight unit. One has on/off shutters and the other has rollers (I think)

Ok so that part is actually the LED ballast, so that looks like it doesn't describe what type of LED headlamp assembly is in front of it...

It might be easier to tell from the PR codes maybe.
Do you know where the list of PR codes for all the parts installed in your car is located?
It used to be in the wheel well but when I looked in a Golf 7.5 the other night it wasn't there so I assume it is in the car's service book or manual.

Is your headlight range controller at address 55 or 4B?
And what is the pn of your BCM?
There seem to be 3 variations....

My16 has address 55 and BCM which can be coded
My17 has address 4b and BCM which has no coding, only adaptation channels.

Then the last variant (which nobody seems to have encountered until now) has the older address 55 headlight controller and new adaptation only BCM.
This last variant requires a parameter set upload to address 55 to activate AFS with MFD (masking).

First 2 variants require coding and adaptation only.
Last one needs coding, adaptation and a parameter set.

Hopefully we can figure out by model and year how these break down in Australia.

So are yours on Main Beam all the time and then when a car is oncoming it only dims that portion, or does it turn Main Beam off all together?
