Thanks for that. I'll speak with the local pedders guy later and see how that pans out.

Best to ask your local guy. It's not a big job up on the hoist and 3 bolts each side. I'm not sure I would go Whiteline as the housing doesn't bolt up fantastically. I know Tiggy1 used some push on bushings with the stock housings. If I was to do it again I'd probably go this way but then you do end up destroying your stock bushing getting it out. So I guess it's line-ball if you intend reverting back to stock after - probably Whiteline is better in this case.

Should have asked this before. How much would pedders charge for installing the WALK?

The carbon shroud that is currently on my car is an earlier development unit - hence the reason for pop rivets and the extra bracketing.Originally posted by Lucas_R View PostCheers - i was interested to see how it looked compared to the one i have (also a VAR shroud). Yours appears to be the same/similar overall shape, but i can see yours has some pop rivets on the top for something, also also a bracket where the air filter pipe enters the shroud. So it's a bit different.
The Tig must have more room in the engine bay too, as my shroud sits much closer to the batter and fuse box area (almost touches them) on my car.
Is yours running that blue coloured air filter?
You need to get yourself an R8 oil cap to finish off that engine bay
It's not as large as the production ones. Here's a couple of photos of the unit I had on a little while back:

The only good thing about the "old" unit is that I can still get access to my washer bottle filler easily.

A couple of pics for you LucasOriginally posted by Lucas_R View PostPics? I would like to see what it looks like (if you are happy to share).

Note I'm not quite as OCD as some when it comes to the engine bay
I do a bit of dirt road driving occasionally so it's regularly getting messed up.Last edited by tigger73; 17-12-2013, 08:29 AM.

Intake went back on yesterday. No noticeable change to performance but I now get some intake noise and some DV actionOriginally posted by Lucas_R View PostIf your intake retains the OEM plastic MAF housing near the battery then you have no worries. Throw the carbon intake back on and enjoy a few extra kilowasps and the sound.

Yea. Reading everyone's comments in the past and now yours as well, that the front stock bar is pretty good for general every day use, I'm thinking of changing the rear to the 22mm one too. Good to heat you've confirmed my thoughts and that helps my decision making. I want it balanced... And yes, if anything I'd prefer the front a tiny bit stiffer. But I'll leave the front stock...
Will call Pedders on Monday. Only thing is they would need to order one in as none of their other branches had any RSB in stock. $35 extra for freight...

Front Sway Bar + ALK installed in Tiguan
If you're just doing the rear I would consider the 22. If you were doing both I'd go the 24 front and back.Originally posted by Wynnston View PostHmm. What do you think is the best rear sway to go for Whiteline? and 24mm or 22mm?
That's just my gut feel and based on having the 24 on the back of mine with the stock sway bar on the front. I think in this configuration the back is stiffer than the front.
You probably want to have it the other way around with front stiffer or at least balanced. That's my thoughts.
Also I wouldn't bother changing the front sway bar unless you were running it on the track.

Thanks very much for that! He doesn't sound confident saying he's never done one before in a Tiguan. Seems pretty straight forward.

Rear sway bar install should take less than 30mnts max. I would not pay more than $100. (My previous mechanic charged me $30 to fit a rsb to my mk6 gti for his time).
Diy is pretty easy, but it depends if u r comfortable with rsb install diy.

Hi guys. Just wanted to check how much does Pedders charge for installing the rear sway bar in the Tiguan. He can't seem to give me a figure over the phone. Thanks.
