It's a cheap upgrade - just allow a day and preferably when the weather is nice. Because my driveway/carport is narrow I was only able to do 2 calipers at a time so it probably took a little longer.

Especially on the Tig that comes with bare metal capilers a splash of paint really sets them off nicely.

I decided not to go anything too outrageous like yellow. Given I have a black car the black seemed like a good choice. Keeping things discrete

I'm just waiting on a new race file then I'll get you a 0-100 time. Probably won't be a launch control run - just plant the foot to the floor. Less wear and tear on the car and you can probably take off 0.5sec if you use launch control. If I was chasing a particular number then I might consider it, but I'd like to keep my DSG transmission for a little while longer.

Blue brakes on your car would look nice. You can get the brake caliper paint in a range of colours.

There's also a UK ebay seller who does the high temperature vinyl stickers - Volkswagen Racing HI Temp Premium Cast Vinyl Brake Caliper Decals Stickers | eBay

If you put the stickers on then you'll need a few coats of clear to go over the top.

First side I didn't let the black paint dry enough and the clear made the black bleed onto the sticker. Managed to clean it up with some turps OK. Second side I hit with the heat gun first and that worked a lot better.

Yep I have tried launch control many times and it take off 0.4 ~ 0.5 sec from timing . Honestly I am chasing a time of 5.2 sec and if I ever get K04 love to reach that magic number.. Under 5 sec.

Are all tiguans get DQ500 for DSG? I mean 4 motion ones.. They are rated for more than 600 NM ... So launches can're be a problem.

Yes I reckon you're right - it's going to take a turbo upgrade to get into the 4's.

I'm pretty sure all the 4 motion ones are (both diesel and petrol). I think early on they only came in standard auto and not DSG but the 7 speed DSG should all be DQ500's - my 2011 125TSI is a DQ500. Not talking about the 118 FWD which I think only comes in a manual at this stage anyway.

If I ws in the low 5's I'd consider it just to get the time and "bragging rights", but other than that I'd probably not put undue wear and tear on the drivetrain.

Can't wait to see these puppies fitted.

Let us know how it feels after too, i definitely noticed a more responsive (or rather, less laggy) steering wheel after the upgrade from the big reps.

                • Well the the light and rain beat me but hub/centering rings fit which is a relief and the bolts should be OK too as I checked them today.

                    Hey Tigger73,

Is yours a 4Motion or FWD?

I'm getting 6.5 0-100 on a 2013 155, bone stock w/Launch Control and setting the AutoPolar Chronometer to go off at 105km/h to compensate for any spedo error (as mentioned in a previous thread). You've got a lot more mods so I would have though you'd be pushing into the low-mid 5's easily. I know other guys with STG1 APR Tigs that get into the mid 5's territory. Or are the 125's not as tuneable or something?

                      Yes mine is a 2011 125TSI 4Motion 2.0T.

Long story short I've got a "performance" level tune from Viezu (only one they currently have for the Tig). They run a few types of tune files - blue motion (for improved economy), performance (increased performance but not pushing the envelope too much), motorsport/race (higher performance tune).

The 125/147 and 132/155TSI's are all the same motor with slightly different levels of tune. So if you put the same tune file into a 125TSI as a 155TSI you will end up at the same place.

However shortly I will be getting a faster file from Viezu and then I will re-run some more 0-100 times.

The autopolar speedo is accurate - I've checked this myself against the highway speedos. It takes the speed directly off the ECU speed which is "uncompensated" - before they add the 5-7% fudge factor to display on the MFD/speedo. This is to compensate for the fact that you could legally run oversize tyres on it and your speedo still wouldn't under-read.

If you're running stock tyre sizes the ECU/Autopolar speed should be pretty much bang-on. Though legally you still have to take your speedo speed as "accurate" so don't let me saying things get you into trouble. Suggest you test/check for yourself.

Thanks Transporter. Yeah I'll have to stake out some more places to take a few photos around my place and maybe get Adam or someone else with a decent camera to take a few shots.

Cheers. It's been a while coming but I think the wait was worth it.

They're a lot more open wheel than my old RS4's and going from 18 to 19's makes the brakes look small...... need a BBK now???

I've got my old RS4 reps up for sale but thinking of keeping them and plasti-dipping them just for fun. However they're completely out of rubber so along with the cans of plasti-dip I'd also be up for 4 new tyres so this ones not going to happen any time soon.
