Tiguan VCDS Coding Options

Coming home is set by the factory to be activated manually by pulling the indicator stalk back briefly when you remove the keys from the ignition although if you want, you can set it via VCDS to work automatically by unticking one of the bits (Byte 12 bit 2 in the newer Tiguans with the 30 byte #9 BCM) Leaving home as you would expect, can only be set automatically and hence you need a switch which includes the "auto" setting

Hi I am trying to disable my air con settings being displayed on my radio display every time I alter the air con - it interrupts the display on the radio or DVD that is playing. How would I disable this?

Hi there, i have recently put in some "error free" LED lighting for the licence plate on my 2015 Tig R. The error lighting still show up, how do i fix it of disable it via VCDS? I notice you did have some screen shot posted, but is not visible anymore.....

Note: Will get rid of the stubborn "bulb out warning light" received even with error-free LED bulbs

which vcds version are you using? Im using version 14.1 atm, under module 9 i can't find bit 6........ Any chance of posting some snap shots would be greatly appreciated.

Sorted...... it actually bit 18..... activate License Plate Lighting w/o Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) [LED Lighting].

What is everyone here using? I'm not prepared to pay several hundred dollars for the Ross-Tech, but also don't want to waste time and money on cheap eBay cables that may not work.

Then really you have no choice.
Either purchase or borrow a Ross Tech; bribe another member to do for you or leave as-is.

Does anyone know if it is possible to set up my late-2010 Tiguan to use dimmed halogen projectors as DRLs? I can set it up so the dipped lights work or the fog lights? I can also presumably use a separate light, but these would have to be installed.



While on the subject, when I have the dipped lights being used as the DRL, is there any reason why the status would tell me to check both the left and right DRLs and show a warning light in the instrument cluster?

Unfortunately original images were posted up using Imageshack.

When they stopped being free, the b@$t@rd$ pull all the pics off.

If somebody wants to re-post them up again, I can give you all the photos.

But you would need to work out what is what!

I'll do it, but it will be a deliberate exercise - I think posts like yours are a legacy that is worth preserving. Do you know if the original posts can still be edited or would I need to recreate them at this point in the thread?
