Hahaha, i know what you mean.
Took it for a bit of a test run later today and it definitely is #@#$%!#$%@!
On the way home from Guy's i spotted 5 police cars and 2 camera's so i couldn't really give it a bootfull.
Having tested it out a bit i can honeslty say that first gear fealt short in the stock map, now it is definitely too short as the tacho winds up to red very very quickly.
It is also quite enjoyable to take the idiots who think they can push in for the left lane that ends after the lights.

Intake should be on in about a week or so as they were out of stock.

Got the "please fill me up" warning today at 600km from the first tank.

I think you should have booked into our driver training day so we could have all met up.
I am still getting used to the gearing of the car now with the map.
Plus i am only at a lowly 189 until i get the intake fitted (which is still 1 better than the Golf R )

shhh .... don't say that, you'll have all the MK6 drivers who live in their own little worlds with no knowledge of "other" cars (even other VWs) and their capabilities have a fit here ... (as well) ...

To think that a Tig TSI has the MK6 EA888 GTI engine .... and the R's Gen4 Haldex all in 1 car for $40K .... apparently thats blasphemy .... LOL

I have been driving it a bit sedately mostly because the Chief financial officer has been in the car with me most of the time and it was only a stock 125.
It sounds a little rough now so i think they may have only put 95Ron in it which may account for the fuel economy as well.

The tig is a very well rounded machine, for 40k you get the same spec's as a Golf R, then spend another 1-2k on swaybars and suspension and it should handle like a dream.
Most of the Golf R threads ended up in fights becasue we said the R was just a lowered Tig that cost 25k more.

4 July sounds good to me.
Should hopefully have the intake on by then.
Really liking the whoosh of the engine and the whistle of the turbo now that you can hear it more with the remap.

Have to get Chief financial officer approval but should be okay.

I have only heard good things about Nanolex sealant so i will get some of that and hopefully some poorboys wheel sealant for the wheels.

Good to hear another good review of the product though
When you get the nanolex, make sure you look at the tiny bottle and say "Where is the rest of it?" like I did It goes a loooooong way though.

Here are a few pictures of our tiggy before we took it on a weekend away, it was 8am in the morning and very cold. I washed it the night before at a car wash under the cover of darkness but couldn't find a tap to fill my buckets, so I just used the high pressure water and a wash mit full of shampoo. Spent a few hours using the nanolex cleaner and sealant after drying it and it came up pretty good.

I'm still thinking of applying a layer of wax for the extra protection and a bit more shine, but still doing my research. I use 303 protectant for all plastics inside and out and it works very well. Out of all the things I have bought so far I think my little aluminium platform is the best, makes cleaning the roof a breeze

My platform is like this one but not adjustable

Nice tig you've got there team_v.

Out of interest, how many kms did you have on it when you did the APR tune? I'm looking at doing mine but so far have only 550 kms on my GTI and not sure how soon is too soon...

I had 500km on it when it was remapped.
There has been quite a few Tig's remapped after their 1000-3000km run in period with no difficulties so i figured i would get it done early.

The difference is astounding, it's a completely different car now.
First gear is almost useless as the needles max out in no time.

Hopefully i will hear about the wheels tonight.
Might see what else i can tinker with on the car.

Sounds good mate, thanks for the info.

I think they have a sale on at the moment don't they? Did you go for the full ECU with all options? The main thing I want is the security lock out so it's hopefully hidden as much as possible.

They do have a sale on at the moment.
I got the full package for the same price as the standard ecu remap.

Alternatively you can just get the stock and 98ron map for 10% off i believe.

I don't really know if i will ever use the other options but i figured why not get it all.
Security lockout shouldn't be an option for me as i will be going to independant service providers.

You've got to use the Valet mode team v - it's a riot - great for controlling your lead footed sister/brother/father!

Yes, but I find it's the R32 owners that get somewhat devistated by the Tig's ability considering the price they paid for their R32. To have an SUV with $400 worth of suspension and a quick remap out do them in everything other than braking, well it does (and rightly so) tend to upset the relationship somewhat!

I am good to go for the 4 July Tiguan Cruise to Maleny if it's going ahead.

Went for another drive last night, filled up with BP Ultimate and the grumbling and roughness of the engine seemed to lessen so i believe it had 95 from the dealership.
Set me back $84 and the distance to empty was back to 550km when i drove off.

Loving the linear power delivery, managed to get it really moving when i went for a drive after refuelling.
I also like the real time fuel economy display, managed to get it up to 60l/100km lol.

The funny part is when the idiots in their commondore v6's and ricelines that think you are just another SUV soccer mum and can take you at the lights when their lane is due to run out.
That is where the APR remap really shines through.

Going home early today so i will see what else i can do aesthetically on the car.
Should be due for a wash next week and an application of nanolex paint sealant.

I like when TDi Tigs try and have a crack (mind you, I generally let them go just out of respect, unless there's a hill involved ).

                                Wow, that would be interesting.
I haven't been next to another Tig at the lights yet, only commondores and daily's.

Apparently we aren't allowed to poke fun at the Mk6 forum anymore, i made one comment and was asked to remove it otherwise i would get an infraction.

Had a crack at another aesthetic mod, it's all in pieces at the moment, in hindsight, i probably wouldn't do this one again or if i did, i wouldn't take it apart.
Hoping to get pic's for you guys soon.
