If anyone knows an installer who has done work upgrading the audio in the Tig let me know.
Speak to FHRX Studio's mate. They definitely have experience with Tiguans as they installed my new headunit, and they installed sound dampening, a reverse camera, and new headunit in Vincent's Tiguan.

I watched them taking the panels etc off and they know exactly what they're doing. Marty is a really nice and helpful guy too, which just made the service all that more pleasant.

I got mine done at Doran Pro Audio in Bankstown, excellent price and good service as always. They're always extra careful with new cars too

Dropped by there today, no one was available to see me.

Didn't look like they had a showroom or any gear to look at either, a bit dissapointing. I guess if they do the job right it doesn't matter.

Will try the other place in Caringbah as I'm not far from there, thanks everyone!

Small favour to ask - anyone got photo's of the Tiguan boot with the spare tyre cavity?

Also, can anyone confirm what is inside the compartments on either side of the boot?

Thanks again, everyone here is very kind!

I spose Tiguan owners are just that awesome!

Kiwi ones are: passenger's side: jack, warning triangle etc. Driver's side: empty (I've got my fire extinguisher and luggage net in there).

            Cheers

Same for the Aussie one. I have my bottle of oil, tyre weld, and Cetaine Booster in the right side (was empty on delivery). On the left the tools and jack etc fill that space up nicely.

As for pics of the wheel well, take a look at these ones on the MyTiguan forums: http://www.mytiguan.com/viewtopic.ph...t=5408&p=44602

                Wow!

Thanks so much, looks like plenty of room to play with in the wheel well, also sounds like the storage compartments on either side of the boot could hold an amp and sub too.

                Excellent!

I would be careful about mounting an amp inside the storage compartment.
You may have heatsink issues unless you leave the storage covers off.

Well, the dealer told me to expect some oil usage while running in as "it's normal" so I bought a bottle. It's yet to be used, but I guess I have it in case

I just got my 7500k service done, mechanic reckoned it had only used 200ml in that time. Pretty damn good

Went an visited Marty @ Caringbah today, was really impressed just how much he knows about the Tiguan in particular.

He showed me some photo's of installs he's done on the Tig before, so am feeling more confident of achieving what I want - excellent quality audio, proper integration with the stock headunit, 'stealth' speaker placement so it all still looks stock and I don't lose any bootspace.

Now I just have to wait till my Tiguan is delivered....every day is streeeetching now!

FHRX is definitely very good at what they do, just a bit rich for my blood. But if I could have afforded it I would have gone there definitely.

Nothing is too good for the Tig!

The budget is going to stretch a little
