You were moding the Power Steering module?
The codes should be applied to your engine module to change the accelerator behaviour.
I think you are wrong.

It does reduce tip in lag and improve throttle response a bit.
Overall less of an effect than a Pedalbox in its lowest of 21 settings (Eco with negative 3), other than OFF.Current:

Direct Acceleration - Throttle response
With this mod, you can change the behaviour of the accelerator. Option B provides a more linear acceleration without sudden deliveries.
1. Module 44 - Power Steering (Code 19249)
2. Adaptation
3. Select - switching driving profile
Choices:
A - Gradual, controlled by time
B - Directly controlled threshold value
It reduced the lag time between the pedal and the torque request table!Daily 2018 Tiguan MK2 Sportline (Drag & Drop Tune, 12.9s @ 108mph)

Are there any negatives to the gearbox from this ‘mod’
Clutch wear, harshness in driveline, gearchanges rough/slurred, strange hill-hold behaviours and whatnot?
If not, I’m keen to try anything that will make my dsg experience better.

Ecu + DSG tunes takes care of the sloop fly by wire throttle response even more.
MY MK6 R throttle response was really bad, especially when trying to overtake in a high gear, would have to nearly floor it for the transmission to kick down a few gears.Tiguan Gen2 162TSI Etuners IS38 Stage 3 238.6 kw@4 wheels

i picked up my wolfsburg yesterday and with less 60kms on the clock I coded DLA and TMC without issue

Nice, would prob consider this down the track. I'm super new to the VW coding game, but have experience working with Carly for BMW.
Couple of questions:
1) Is it a fairly involved job or is it a matter of buying the OBD11, and selecting the mods via an app? Or do you have to manually add coding lines to this?
2) Does the Traffic monitoring appear in the heads up display as well? Or just in the AID?
Thanks!

No the TMC doesn’t appear in the HUD, and I wonder if the satnav uses it to calculate the quickest route, I need to test this more. If I click traffic it will display all the messages for my route but I don’t think it incorporates it into the route planning.
TBH I’m finding the HUD a real let down, at 110km/h the pop up glass vibrates a little which is distracting at night. The lack of info on it is bad as well. I would say it’s slightly better than not having one, but coming from a Beamer that had an excellent HUD it will take a bit getting use too!

i probably need to read up on if it’s possible to restore the original, or perhaps save the original code so I can recall it if I need too.
