The enabling of TJA by software update was done on NZ vehicles, and I believe that LGA/TJA are officially available in NZ MY17 vehicles. We still need a confirmation for Aust MY17 vehicles. Very happy if I have missed this confirmation.

Can anyone shed light on probable build dates for a 162 tiggy (R-line and DAP) ordered end of May? Expecting delivery early next year but canvasing this thread there seems to be a variety of times from people ordering, to getting introductory email, VW welcome pack, build date etc etc. I have heard nothing as of yet...(literally 'nothing')

Hi, I ordered mine around the same time, and spoke with my dealer last weekend. Problem seems to lie with the MY18 model as there are no confirmed build dates from the factory. I ordered mine through a large dealership here in Sydney and they advised that delivery is still scheduled for Nov/Dec though they can't be certain. They too don't expect any MY18 demos until this time. I'm guessing that this is the same problem around the country. Hopefully they start building for Aus orders around September for the MY18 model, ready for delivery at the end of the year. Though I'm not holding my breath!!

I ordered mine in December (162tsi, metallic, rline, sunroof, dap) and picking up car next week. Had the option to switch to my18 at no extra cost. I was thinking about if I switched I could wait on a maybe delivery date of October or so however knowing VW is terrible with delivery times it could stretch out longer was a risk. Just to let you know I was advised a delivery date of end of May at order which is now 2 months overdue. Seems delivery times are worse now?
Hang in there!

Just to understand what this means for warranty of the car -
Do we void the warranty because of this? And insurance too?

Insurance may only be interested if you enable a feature that is going to cause distractions. Something like enabling DVD playback while driving.

Picked up my Tig today, have spent a few hours in it ferrying the kids around to various things, haven't had much time to play/customise yet, but it's been great, so much more refined than my X-Trail, driving is a pleasure. Few things that come to mind.
- Dynamic Lights are brilliant, love watching them start up
- interior lighting is great, like the way the door handles are illuminated.
- Apple car play is great
- Bluetooth a breeze to setup
- been taking it really easy, but you can feel the power under the hood
- ride on the 20" wheels is firmer than I thought it'd be, feel the rough surfaces more than I ever have before
- delivery experience at the dealership was great, really thorough
- it's now filthy as there's been lots of showers this arvo
- kids love it
- automatic boot opener is cool
- boot is bigger than I remember
- DSG has been smooth
- stop/start is ok, not causing me any issues
- ALG is not an option under systems menu
- Lane assist gives a nice reminder when drifting lanes, tested on purpose
- Stereo is much better than I remember, actually quite decent and probably the best I've had in a car
thats about it for now, will add the obligatory pic in the appropriate thread but haven't had time to stop and take pics yet sorry
hang in for those who are still waiting, the first few hours in it have me mightly impressedMY17 Tiguan 162 Highline | DAP | Rline | Pano Sunroof | Pure White
