I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Hi Fellow Tiguan owners or soon to be owners, I'm a newbie here. Congratulations to all of you who have received and enjoying your new car. I've ordered my Tiguan mid November last year and was told I'll have to wait till July now (Orginally May/June). Has anyone here ordered a white Tiguan with the lot (DAP, sunroof and R-Line) with Rockdale VW and got the car? Thanks.

I ordered in September and should have mine in about 2 weeks. I ordered through a broker, but the dealer is Nepean Motor Group. There did seem to be about a month delay affecting pretty much everyone. My initial date was Jan/Feb, this was pushed back to March (which now more likely first week of April).

Ordered just before Xmas. Originally told July, then May. It's currently enroute off the coast of Africa. Due Port Kembla 14 Apr so expect delivery towards end of April.

162 R-Line white with everything except sunroof.

Call the dealer. Things seem to be speeding up in recent months. Get a VIN and find out for yourself.

Damm. Should have gone without sunroof or through a broker. I did talk to the dealer and they won't even provide me a NADCON screen shot. They just told me 1st April hand over to production and say I'm looking at July delivery. I'm just worried they may have given mine to another buyer who willing to pay more and make me wait. Can they do that?

We have the same dealer. My salesperson didn't have a problem providing a NADCON screen shot.

I'd be very sus as to why they won't give you one. I suspect he's either promised the car you ordered to someone else for a better price, or just plans to put it on the showroom floor and sell it to the first guy that snaps it up for $5K more than your contracted price.

The delays create a supply and demand equation that the dealers didn't anticipate. I suspect a lot are cashing in by playing us for mugs. Letting us wear the delay, while they cash in. The only way to protect yourself is to get a printout of the order. Go back and demand it!

I'm not sure that they would prioritise, I'd say they are just the first to have come off the vessel. Does clearing customs equate to "DELIVERED FROM" in the tracking status?

From what I have read elsewhere some vehicles are prioritised. I remember when my GTI, it took 3 weeks to get to the dealer whereas within 4 days there where vehicles that came off the same ship sitting in their yard.

I assume that Delivered From means that the shipping company has handed over the car to Patricks and no longer in their possession - this implies that customs has to be cleared in order to Patricks to take possession.

By the way the baby came this morning in the front seat of the wife's Polo GTI!

Thanks mate. A little girl, we named her Eva.

Didn't know how she gave birth in the front seat as I was driving and her seatbelt was still on!

What a story to tell her later on!
