I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

My dealer told me, the car will be arriving on someday around 23- 27 FEB, and i can pick up on 6 of March. Dont know whether it is true or not. But i rather believe them than having doubts.

Anyone had trouble insuring their 162TSI highline? Went to amend the policy for the current Tiguan 147 (we have about 4 months residual on that) and was told the 162 didn't exist.

It was one of those computer says no moments.

So now having too wait for the insurers to confirm the existence of said VW Tiguan 162TSI Highline before finalising delivery.

I feel your pain there. Both vehicles in my signature block were not available on the books with insurance providers at the time of delivery. The 92 TSI Golf was one of the first released only to find all the major insurers not listing it on their books for several months. Lucky it was similar to the old 90 TSI Golf to use for insurance purposes.
The Q3 was a different story, again one of the first released (face lift models) so I had to list it down as the top spec last model with all options. Every month I'll contact my insurer to see if they had it listed. I think it was 4 moths later and I was able to re-insure it at the correct value and price, which provided a refund in my insurance policy at the end of the day.

If all goes according to my latest NADCON printout mine is due in Melbourne on the 22nd which might mean that it is on the same boat as yours.

Thanks for that advice that could be a way around it. One way or another it is getting fixed tomorrow.

Not NRMA and not especially responsive so far. If I don't get an answer tomorrow I'll arrange insurance through a company that does recognise the 162. Had a friend recently purchase a fiat 124 spider. Took 2 weeks forr the insurance industry to recognise the model mean while his car remained at the dealers.

I rang AAMI, NRMA and Allianz. None of them had the 162 back in December. They said that they were waiting of Glass to add the model and that it can take up to 2 months after that model hits the shore. AAMI said they would list it as the older 155 and Allianz for the next 12 months has listed it as a 132, with the highest 132 value but Allianz also cover it with a new for old. They've also put a copy of the tax invoice on file so it's note it's a 162.

So I ordered the car in July last year, and it got put into the system in September when you could start ordering the 162TSIs.

Got a NADCON printout from the dealership saying it would be built this week. Received an email this morning saying my car had been built. I then rang the dealership to ask for a VIN and spoke to a rude and arrogant sales manager who said the car is not due for production until April with a May/June delivery and thats what he was seeing on his system. I told him VW sent me an email saying the car had been built - he said he had no idea about that.

This is getting really frustrating...

I'm in exact same situation. Have called VWA numerous times but they aren't getting back to me...

Did you pay full retail for the car? If so, I'd be tempted to cancel the contract and go and order somewhere else and save a bunch of cash.

Thanks. If your insurance co has yet to update thier database to include the 162TSI (as is my case) then the solution is to insure it as a 140 Highline with the appropriate additional annotations on the policy.

Anyway, it is done and we are good to go on Friday.

That's not so bad then (at least you didn't pay full price). Try and talk to one of the other people there, and if they still give you the run around, call VW Australia, after all, the email you received came from VW, not the dealership.

I ordered a fully loaded 162tsi in white, back in September. Received my "I'm Built" email just over a week ago. Spoke with salesman at the dealership a couple of days afterwards and he said that his system says that the car was still "in production". Not sure what to believe... however the salesman did say that the production of the vehicle would only take about a week and that he would provide me with a VIN soon.

By the way, has anyone else that is still waiting on their order received a card and a toy model of a Tiguan in the mail from VWA as well?
