I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

I have a White 162 R Line with Sunroof on order and have been told that it is on board the Torino which is meant to be arriving in Melbourne on Thursday. I have been told to expect to be able to take delivery in mid Feb but I have not been able to get a VIN or any further information from my dealer.

I have also not received a letter or gift in the mail but have been received several phone calls in December apologising for the delay.
Given that those who have ordered in the last week have delivery dates of June (and at better prices) I would recommend cancelling the order hvco1 and finding a dealer that is a little more customer focused. That kind of treatment is never appropriate, nor are the snide comments. I would also now be pushing harder for a full and proper explanation from VW about the delays and communications from the dealer.

If it has not I will be making a formal complaint to VW Australia about the dealership and in particular the sales manager.

I did get a very good deal for the car - 56500 DA with R-Line pack, DAP and Sunroof. If I cancel the order now and wait till June, it will be 11 month wait on a car!

what insurance options do you guys pick?

do you insure market value?

or do you do agreed amount?

I am not sure if market value is a good option for such unpopular colour for me (habanero)

but its damn cheap though :S, nearly $200 difference compared to if i chose to insure it at purchase price ...

any suggestion? I am with NRMA btw

Wow, that is a great deal considering it was back in June. When I was ordering in September there were no dealers willing to negotiate, which lead me to a broker. Got a discount, but not as significant as yours. I'd be holding on to the order and just waiting it out. Then unleash

My R-Line with Sunroof, DAP, metallic docks at Port Kembla(Sydney dealers) 23 February. I ordered in November. Those July orders being pushed out to April or May delivery are definitely screwy.

My partner and I are with Apia , quote for 162 RLINE purchase price of $56000 , but getting cover for 57000 was $61 month or $722 pa. also windscreen repair option too.

I don't suppose I am too old. What I do know it pays to get quotes from lots of insurers. We paid $533 for GTI comprehensive last time[March] We live in the sticks though. Our other car [2013Tiguan] is with another company for a similar cost.
Insurance companies change their policies and re-rate vehicles as consequences change, so we need to keep a close watch on their prices and be prepared to jump ship when it happens
