What does everyone else use? I’ve always used the genuine ones. Seems that aftermarket are the same price if not more than genuine VW ones? Also the aftermarket look abit more bulky on the connector side that factory ones that click in? Am I being silly and missing something? If you run non genuines, can you show what they look like fitted? Thanks

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Ive tried the Bosch and Valeo replacements, but currently am using the Wipertech blades on both my cars and they are the best (out of the ones ive tried) in my opinion.

Before I retired I worked for a VW parts supplier and had Bosch and Valeo blades available at cost. I had no issue with Bosch on my Golf and Polo until a few years back when a set shuddered from new. Tried Wipertech and silent from day 1. Thought I'd give Bosch another try after a year and instant shuddering. Replaced with Wipertech and again silent from install. I guess what I'm saying is I'd recommend you give Wipertech a try. (Screen or arms was not an issue.)

Use wipertech blades on my Q5 and wifes Q3 and they have been flawless the past ~12 months. Considering the hassle of trying to find decent wiper blades online, through brick & mortar stores, wipertech is hands down the best. The set they sent me for my wifes Q3 included a longer rear wiper blade designed for the sportback Q3, not the normal SUV. They sent out a replacement shorter version express post after i emailed them with photos and measurements etc. Not many other shops would be willing to do that.

Just added Wipertech to my allspace - front and back and also on daughters Koleos. Work exactly as stated and easily the best I have used. The service from Wipertech was excellent also as an issue with Aust Post was sorted quickly and painlessly. Can recommend them to any one who needs new wipers, regardeless of car brand. PS - also clay barred and clenaed screen and polished with NU Finish once a year polish as per Youtube videos and the water release is so much better than the ones whio state they are specific.

Anyone else notice the wipertech front blades are about 1 inch longer on the driver side, a little longer on the passenger side, but about 1cm shorter on the back?
Any idea where the extra length will put extra strain on the wiper motors and cause a failure eventually?
