That's a pretty standard disclaimer. There are a bunch of mods which are technically illegal but are commonplace. Heck, tuning your ECU is illegal unless you get the car engineered with an accompanying emissions test.

Well aware as I did about 36 mods to my Tig but none were performance ( apart from the Audi mod) or suspension mods. Merely pointing it out so if anyone buys it without reading they will be aware. As I said most is able to be done without it . My Kamiq has the ability to do all that. without anything to help it and the Cupra etc are all built on virtually the same platform so should be similar. Also am a bit shy on inserting cables where they may not be the best place to go. If you can adjust the electronic parameters fine but sticking cheat cables in is a bit off in my book

Yep, read the bit re "Off road use only", but that's just a disclaimer to try and save them, but not something that'd work with a good lawyer. Anyways ......

Hiya hillbilly - I'm with you re prefer to do the tuning via coding/using OBD11, BUT, I've found out the hard way that what works with VW doesn't always work the same with the Cupra, even though it's made by the same mob.

It's frustrating as hell, and I've tried multiple options to solve my issues and still not easily getting anywhere.

I could just also turn it off each time I get in the car, but that's not the way I like it ....

Biggest problem is since they changed things as I said about the camera model and probably other stuff, things have been much harder to do, to the extent I have given up on most stuff. Im probably going to lose my license in a few months due to one eye going very bad so not worrying any more.

You can get either the Start/Stop only or other features, and I've also seen the Aliexpress versions.

Ha ha Yes, Drove Taxis on and off for 20 years and City buses for 10 years,in two countries. Also have owned over 30 different cars. Meanwhile back to fixing Stop Start LOL

On the subject of stop/start defeat cables I can vouch for the $15 AliExpress job on my MY23 Tig R.
It’s a memory cable so once the s/s is turned off it doesn’t need switching again, but can be switched back to active.
Shop was Enjoyssa on AliExpress.

I'm waiting on mine at the moment, but the $47 one linked above. Not keen on trying to install the multiple separate wires and the single connector seemed much easier.
Car is off to a workshop on Tue morning to see what they can do re the fault code issues I have.

Should have known that it wouldn't work properly.

A right PITA to fit, it memorised the start stop but not anything else and now has caused faults with the rear sensors.
