Cant turn off Service nag is at 335 days

Would like to turn this off as it has only started doing it since last service. Didnt do it before until 30 days before service was due.

Can go to dealer but thought I would try here first. Have read the manual which doesnt help and looked through the MIB but cant find anything
Anyone have any ideas?????

Dont want to reset it, you can do that easily I want it to stop coming up every time I turn the car on as Im sure it wasnt doing that prior to 30 days before the service

Hillbilly, are you saying your car didn’t give you the warning 30 days before you previous service(s) in this car? My Tiguan did. (And I’ll find out again next month)

It is a feature of this generation of vw.

I’d be surprised if the message couldn’t be disabled via obd11 though.

No Im saying before the service Im sure it only gave the warning 30 days before it was due, and not from when I bought it.

Now it has given it every time I turn it on and no i cant find anything in OBD II to turn it off or I would have. I have searched in Tig , Mk7 and Skoda ODBII pages and ts not there so off to the stealer tomorrow

Not only this generation My wifes 2010 Polo does it as did my 2011Passat but only for 30 days before service was due

May want to add this one - it reduces the “service soon warning” which starts 30 days ahead of time and shows every time you start the car. I reduced mine to two weeks.

Yes but mine is telling me its 331 days to service when I start it this morning

I used ODBII and changed Service notification to 30d but it still comes up on starting as a reminder for 331 days

Thanks but been there doesnt help as they are all a reset which I dont want to do and that one is for a Mk5 and I have a Digital dash

I understand now Hillbilly. I wonder if it wasn’t reset at the last service? Or if they applied a software update that glitched the system. Give them a call and see if they can advise on a way to reset the message?

Have done that car says 331 days to service, yesterday it said 332 tomorrow it might get a hammer through it.

It was set at the service just past because the oil service and the inspection service dates were different after getting the oil service reset earlier from 365 days from Build date as it was when new to service date in middle of March 12 months from when I bought it.
Now they are both the same but shouldnt be appearing. I have checked with OBDII and done what the poster above said to do but its still appearing

Well its fixed 20 mins at the stealers and it doesnt show up any more. I got told they couldnt figure it out so reset the service schedule and set date back 30 days to roughly last service time and when they turned ign on it had come right. I think the guy who did the service didnt reset it properly. Anyway all good now.
