  • MK 7 TSI 2017 Variant 110 automatic gearbox maintenance

Sorry for the faffing about but I've been researching and in Australia, with VW, it's not easy. This is the second time I've made a mistake with purchasing parts. I have a 2017 TSI 1.4 with the codes SMQ and D7F. I purchased a DSG maintenance kit (5 litres fluid plus gaskets and filter) and it's not...

  • SFD2 and VCDS

Hi guys , just recently took delivery of a brand new Allspace Wolfsburg ... Is it still possible to use VCDS or OBDeleven to reset service indicators and release the park brake to swap out rear pads ? Ive heard that these SFD2 equipped cars now do not respond to coding changes which is what it is but...

    Tyres for 2021 Alltrack Premium

    Hi folks.
At my last service, the "car folk" advised I would need some new rubber around the time of my next service. Now they claim they can source tyres cheaper because they "do this all the time" and I don't believe them and know they won't give me any say in what is...

  • Can VW Dealer share service records of car?

I'm looking to buy a Passat wagon, 2016 onwards, maybe a TDI, or an R-Line version, or an Alltrack (Alltrack is what the heart wants at the moment!)

I'll get an independent inspection of any car I plan to buy, but wondered if you call a VW dealer with the VIN if they'd share the service...

1.8TSI Coolant Leak - Wiring Connector

    Hi all,

I have had the 135,000km service done today by a dealer in Sydney (I know, I know - but still have a service pack on the car for one more service...)

As part of the service, the dealer has found that there is a coolant leak evident from the coolant tank - requiring...

    Service Interval Golf R 7.5

I recently purchased a 2020 (20MY) Golf R7.5 which now has 25,500km on the clock. Still working my way around the car. Recently a message came up indicating a oil service was due in 28 days, now down to 13 days.

Clearly this is based on time since a previous service rather than kms travelled....

  • Discussion - effects of 15k service intervals and stop/start systems on timing chains

I'd like to know everyones thoughts on the effects of 15,000km service intervals and stop/start systems on timing chains (and general engine longevity) with VAG vehicles.

Ive always 'over serviced' my cars by doing 6 monthly oil changes (approx every 5,000-7,500km) with the view to keeping...

    Amarok Transmission Service

Just wondering if someone has serviced their auto gearbox with just a temp gun?
The guru swarmys say that you need to monitor it through VCDS to get to 30-35 degrees, but surely you can just temp gun the sump. Thoughts?
Bought some ebay special VAG adapters to do the service, and mistakingly...

  • VW Tiguan DQ500 DSG service

I`m preparing to do DSG service. My Haynes manual says 5.5 litre transmission initial fill , then check and adjust if needed.
If I do the mechtronics as well ,it will drain 1.2 litres. That is close to initial fill quantity of 6.9 - 7.1 litres.
The manual states after draining both sections...
