Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks for the vid - is it new hardware for MY19 or just a software update via VCDS that can be patched to the MY18.5 ?

There's a discussion about DLA here: Dynamic Light Assist

It looks to be a feature that can be enabled but depends on the modules installed and needs a newer cable that can access the headlight module (older cables for some reason can't??).

            • That's a lot of goodies included at base-spec, but it seems that they have bumped the Highline base price by $1000

              2018 162TSI Highline - $48,490
              2019
              162TSI Highline - $49,490

You also need to add the $3k Sound & Vision to get Active Info Display instead of the old $2k DAP, but of course the S & V includes premium audio

For the extra $1K on the Highline, you get Dynamic light assist + Electric front seats (memory function)

The R-line has dropped from $4,000 to $2,900

                2018 162TSI Highline: Base Price + DAP ($2K) + Rline ($4K) = BP + $6,000

                2019 162TSI Highline: Base Price + $1K + S&V Pack ($3K) + Rline ($2,900) = BP + $6,900

Seems like for a $900 variance and the extra gear you get, its a good deal to get the MY19

                $900 gives you:
                - Dynamic light assist
                - Electric front seats, memory function
                - Premium audio system

Yeah I think it's good value if you are going fully loaded, but more complicated if you are not...like me.

They just want to encourage everyone just to go fully loaded.... much simpler for inventory. Plus there's only 3 colours makes things simple.

                    • I'm guessing a pano roof on a Wolfsburg is not part of the deal and see it only comes in back white or grey. I didn't see a cost quoted for the sunroof on higher spec models, so expect that will be ++? as per 18.5. Would anybody like to guess what would a good price to aim at for a drive away Wolf if I was happy to order and wait. I wouldn't expect to see it until end of year. Maybe a few advantages in waiting a few months and getting a 19 plated vehicle?

                      • I think you'll find that the pano roof is an option for all 162TSI models. Likely this will be same pricing as current.

spoke to my dealer this morning. He's of the impression the Wolfsburg edition will be limited release per dealer and therefore not subject to much discount

he's given eta at 3 months turnaround from delivery at thsi stage

                            Give it time.

Also the only difference is the black wheels afaik
