I've tried to wrangle my existing order to be a MY19 but they politely refused, reason being my negotiated price is based on MY18.5 and supposedly MY19 prices not being released yet. Guess this suggests there will be a price difference between MY models

Yeah it's a can of worms - you would essentially have to start the negotiation process again, especially since they have re-jigged the base specs and the packs in a big way. As much as I would like MY19, I'm sticking with MY18.5 order, which should be here in few weeks.

Yeah it's a can of worms - you would essentially have to start the negotiation process again, especially since they have re-jigged the base specs and the packs in a big way. As much as I would like MY19, I'm sticking with MY18.5 order, which should be here in few weeks.

I think it's probably more along the lines that the dealer doesn't want to have to re-sell the MY18.5 with the MY19 just around the corner as everyone will want the MY19. I suspect the pricing won't change a great deal as they'll try and keep it around the same price-point in the market.

Worst case is you could cancel your order and lose deposit and re-order a MY19 at another dealer if your current dealer doesn't want to play ball.

You have ordered a MY18.5 fully loaded right? Stick with that, unless you want Dynaudio and/or electric pax seat. Personally, I sit in the drivers seat! MY19 engine the same etc.....

It would take more than what's on offer in the MY19 for me to have canceled my MY18.5 order.............those who haven't ordered....wait for sure, although expect price increase.

Incidently, my MY19 Tig wishlist was: Updated engine, Elec. pax seat, heated rear seats, vented front seats, full size spare, DAB+, heated steering wheel, wireless charging and wireless APP connect (CarPlay/Auto).

The way I read the agreement, you are liable for the full price in the agreement not just the deposit

I think there is somewhere in there about fair compensation which the value be similar to the deposit amount.

I don’t think a dealer would ever take you to court for it. I mean they have the car which is worth the amount on the contract. Surely they haven’t lost anything more than the amount of your deposit and even that could be argued.

The way I read the agreement, you are liable for the full price in the agreement not just the deposit

I have cancelled a used Land Rover dealer contract in June this yr, the fine prints on that contract says upto 5% of the total sale price but the dealer just keep the deposit that I have already paid. You just need to find out the % under the contract termination section.
