You could go with something like this and just mount it in the centre console and then wire it up to the 12V cigarette lighter:

Inbay Universal Qi-Smartphone-Unterlage, 3 Spulen, 12V

I think it would be much quicker and cheaper and if done right probably wouldn’t even know it was there.

I had considered getting one now that I have a iPhone X but I plug mine in all the time instead to use CarPlay. If they ever got wireless CarPlay going then I would get rid of my phone mount and get one of these instead.

VW dealer read out the 15 June 2018 Internal VW Bulletin that went to all Dealers for the MY19 Tiguan

- Almost all changes were small cosmetic items (i.e. removal of chrome from 4WD console dial)
- Extra button on steering wheel
- New blue color
- Driver assist now via all 4 wheels instead of just the front wheels only
- No engine changes were listed

He said MY19 detailed specs have still not been released

i heard today that 5 years standard warranty is coming, maybe not until early 2019....has anyone else heard same ? Worth waiting for if true.

MY19 Tiguan and Allspace have the following engines options:

132TSI
162TSI

That is all. No 110TSI Trendline or Comfortline and no 110TDI/140TDI diesel variants at all.

Other than that there's a few chrome trim changes and front and rear manoeuvre braking (as opposed to rear braking only in MY18 )

No. Diesel is gone from Skoda too... looks like its global no diesel for VAG.

The front and rear manoeuvre braking, minor trim changes and blue color matches what a dealer outlined to me

Great news they are getting rid of diesel. Diesel are dead in the USA and the diesel gate scandel means VW need a new direction

The future is petrol turbo / petrol turbo + electric / full electric

Nope. More likely 3cyl plug-in hybrid for ‘hot climate’ while NZ will get a twin turbo V6

Does that stuff up the throttle response? When the new Touareg was announced journos were really critical of the V6 diesel’s throttle response compared to the older generation unit. VW said we would have to get used to it and that, to some extent, it would impact petrol engines too. Is this the beginning?
